I have been watching the newest season of American Horror Story. I can't say that it is any good, but it has my attention.

      American Gods...

I've seen clips from this show as advertisements over the last few years. Finally sat down to watch it.

      ???

I am not sure if confusing is the right word for it, but this is one of the oddest shows that I have ever seen.

A little hard seeing Emily Browning in a role for a character who I hate.

Peacock with S2 of "The Traitors", which feels like The Challenge with more scheming and drama.

I'm watching because of the Survivor/BB players they got (Dan, Janelle, Sandra, Parvati, 4 of the greatest players in those shows history. Probably would've gotten Boston Rob if he wasn't off on Deal or No Deal Island).

Sucks Survivor and BB gets grouped in with Love Island and Real Housewives because I don't care about those shows or know or care who any of their cast is whenever we have crossover shows like this or The Challenge.

Ted is on Peacock. I just watched the pilot episode, and it's classic Ted juvenile comedy. I loved it and laughed harder at that than any other attempted comedy on television. My sense of humor just aligns with Seth MacFarlane's too well.

EDIT: Episodes 2 and 3 were weaker in comparison with respect to the comedy, but that is expected when MacFarlane didn't write these two (though he directed them).

I really like the characters in this show though, as they present a great family dynamic. Max Burkholder plays a young John Bennett very convincingly, I really like Blaire overall, and Susan seems to bring normalcy to things (yet funnily make it feel abnormal since every other character in the universe is essentially a caricature).

But most importantly, taking place in 1993, this is really good at hitting me nostalgically. They ramp these elements up to eleven, and I'm all for every instance of this. I still have four more episodes to go and part of me would rather watch these than the NFL WC playoff games, uneventful as they have been so far.

Do you recommend rewatching the movies first ?

Because it's a prequel series, I'd say no. Sometimes they do something that hints to "who they become" in the future, but that's neither here nor there.

If you're largely aware of those movies' existence and the type of comedy they present, expect more of the same. Not too many punches are pulled. Maybe it'll get you to want to rewatch the movies afterward, though.

I'm now through Episode 4. It had a bit that I couldn't stop laughing about well past when it finished.

Re: What's good to watch on Netflix And Other Streaming Platforms

Just finished the full season of Ted.

First of all, Episode 6 is terrible and can be completely skipped (my opinion only, of course... others may like it, but the main story bit was utterly annoying). Secondly, Seth MacFarlane had a second later episode with sole writing credit, and it's abundantly clear which one it is upon watching it (hint, it's not Episode 6).

It ended pretty well overall, and gives me hope of a second season in 1994 and a present-day third film.

The pilot gave me the most laughs, but the later episodes filled out the family a bunch and they were great to jive with. Blaire and Susan are absolutely the glue to that family dynamic, and it just sucks that as a prequel you feel their absence in Ted 1 & 2 (especially Blaire) and wonder about the leap.

Even still, I got my Ted fill. Haven't laughed that much/hard in a while. Definitely ain't getting it from Family Guy anymore.

Depending on what you like, Lioness, Mayor of Kingstown, Halo, Mafia Boss with Sylvester Stallone were pretty good.

But aside from that, you’re mostly right.

Mayor Kingstown is pretty good. I’m assuming it’s on hold while Jeremey Renner recovers?

I agree wholeheartedly with everything you just said. Evil was amazing, and The Good Fight was great until she left.

Bull is also decent on Paramount.

Evil is still alive and well. All but one episode was filmed before the writer's strike and the fourth season could debut mid-year. The last bit of filming was completed in mid-December.
