Your Friends & Neighbors is surprisingly good getting better with each episode. Jon Hamm is supposed to be "Breaking Bad" after losing his wife to a close friend (and NBA All-Star )and then unjustly losing his high paying job as a hedge fund manager. He feels justified in stealing from his rich friends so the rookie bandit goes into action. Rich lifestyles are showcased as is some great performances from Hamm, Amanda Peet, Olivia Munn and others. I'm on episode six ; episode 8 is scheduled for tomorrow. It's already been renewed for a second season.

        Really enjoyed Florida Man

Crime/comedy is not usually in my wheel house, but it had a few good curveballs, and some serious absurdity.

Wouldn't say sprint to your tv to watch it, but I would definitely say this is a good under-the-radar selection.

Titus Welliver and J.K. Simmons star in MGM+’s upcoming period crime drama series, The Westies, as a cop and a bad guy, respectively.

The Westies, set in the early 1980s, centers on the Hells Angels crime gang’s turf and their coexistence with the Italian mafia. Welliver plays a cop raised by the Westies who must balance law enforcement with his wayward son. Simmons portrays the charismatic and ruthless leader of the gang.

I saw Florida Man too and yeah it was weird but fun. I liked how it didn’t take itself too seriously.

I just watched The Chestnut Man recently and really liked it. It’s got a dark story and kept me interested the whole time.

Another show that for whatever reason we had once abandon was Goliath. We just finished it off last night and enjoyed it so much. Billy Bob Thorton is one heck of an actor.

Stick has been a fun watch and was Tires.

                  I just binged The Pitt.

Great show, all told. Obviously there are the 24/ER parallels, but it also reminded me a lot of Oppenheimer.

In that movie, Christopher Nolan heavily layered story bits with questions that had paid off answers take place later in the movie, but that wouldn't be answered until after other questions were asked. Those layers keep you really engaged throughout the three hour runtime.

This show has the same effect with the different cases that came in and out of the hospital. You don't discharge anyone on the show without making sure that the audience clings onto a newly admitted patient. That's what kept the flow going strong for me.

I did find it odd that they had the Pirates play a Friday afternoon home game, though. Small goof and probably happens on exception, but not often. Just a minor quibble!

                  Bring on Season 2.

Your comment comes before episode four, which takes the show to a new level. Dexter Resurrection is already better than half the seasons of the original.

I recently watched the first couple of seasons of the original series. I'm waiting for this season ends so I can watch it throughout. I enjoyed both New Blood and Original Sin. I lean tkwards Original Sin.

I finished both parts of the HBO documentary Billy Joel: And So It Goes.

It's interesting having heard his music forever with my mom being a lifer fan of his, and then getting the timeline of his discography and interwoven backstories catalyzing the melodies and lyrics for the majority of his songs. For better or worse, I can now hear the majority of his songs again with brand new context, whether it is directly about his story or how his story affects my life.

On that note, I'm sure this is said of many artists, but the synergy between Billy and his piano are so palpable that he would literally not be alive without it. He survives by his need to write and perform, but more so to channel his stories creatively in the artistic medium that is music. We are only so fortunate to have access to his output, and the universe will continue to carry his music forward after he is long gone from this world. Thankfully, we still have him today.

The first half of the 3rd season dragged because they tried to recreate The Silence of the Lamb movie, then the second half had a different feel completely. It was a series that was canceled due to low ratings(despite critical approval) and low viewership. I think that was due to around that time Streaming was starting to really boom and people were beginning to drop cable.
IIRC the 1st half of season 3 (the stuff with Mason Verger, Italy, etc.) was an adaptation of the novel Hannibal (the sequel to The Silence of the Lambs), while the 2nd half of the season was an adaptation of the novel Red Dragon (the prequel to Silence of the Lambs). NBC had the rights to everything in the "Lecterverse" except for events/characters that were only in The Silence of the Lambs, thus they couldn't use Clarice Starling, Buffalo Bill, etc. - they were still negotiating for the rights for SOTL in a future season when the show got cancelled.

I admit the final season was the weakest of the 3, but man, what a show. Still wild to me that Hannibal was as good (and gory) as it was while airing on network TV as opposed to cable.

If you haven't already seen them, there are Anthony Hopkins movie versions of Hannibal and Red Dragon from the early 2000s, but they're kind of meh compared to Silence of the Lambs IMO. Instead, I recommend watching Michael Mann's 1986 adaptation of Red Dragon (the movie was called Manhunter) starring William Peterson as Will Graham and Brian Cox from Succession as Hannibal Lecter. It's VERY 1980s in the best possible way.

So disappointed to find out there will be no season 4 of Warrior.

What a great show this was and I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 seasons.

Right there with you. I am a Billy Joel fan.....became one at age 10 with Glass Houses being my "first" Billy Joel exposure and I went backwards in the discography from there only to be totally blown away.

I love his pre Glass Houses stuff best easily. But he made some solid albums post The Stranger starting with Glass Houses and of course The Nylon Curtain. being a monster for me.

River of Dreams get's some flack.....too much straight rock for the Joel faithful...but I really liked it and still do to this day.

I am not a fan of Innocent Man. The doo wop era was too "old" for my taste. yes some quality hits but not my cup of tea.

Storm Front was another solid later era effort.

But Songs in the Attic is my go to album over and over and over. Absolute prime live Billy Joel jamming deep cuts right before he broke out commercially with The Stranger.

I had the pleasure of seeing him live 3 times, the last time being 1995.
