For a streaming update, I binged Adolescence within a 24-hour period (only four episodes), and started up with the first episode of Untamed.

I also saw Happy Gilmore 2 and The Guilty.

River of Dreams get's some flack.....too much straight rock for the Joel faithful...but I really liked it and still do to this day.

I am not a fan of Innocent Man. The doo wop era was too "old" for my taste. yes some quality hits but not my cup of tea.

Storm Front was another solid later era effort.

But Songs in the Attic is my go to album over and over and over. Absolute prime live Billy Joel jamming deep cuts right before he broke out commercially with The Stranger.

I had the pleasure of seeing him live 3 times, the last time being 1995.
I got to see him in San Francisco in 2015. My one and only time. Loved it.

I didn't own albums personally so I didn't know where certain songs belonged at the time, but again after seeing this it's great to see what else they go with, where they belonged at what time in his life, and what inspired them.

Glad Wednesday is back. One of Netflix's best shows. Ortega as Wednesday is one of those you can't imagine anyone else doing the role.

I don't watch the series, but seeing S1 happen in 2022 and S2 happen in 2025 is one of the reasons I just can't follow streaming shows.

Ironically, everyone's like "streaming means we don't have to wait weeks between episodes on tv since we can binge it", meanwhile the reality is that streaming shows often just have 8 episodes a year and such a long time between seasons, how can you even stay invested?

My fiancée & I are watching “The Sinner”. Somehow we didn’t catch that it steered us on season 4. Each has 8 episodes. Bill Pullman’s character is key to the series (police detective). Each season can stand alone. Very little in the way of crossover from season to season, but some. We liked season 4. 1 & 2 were good. Currently watching 3 and it’s a little slow moving. Murder mysteries.

I finally was able to binge the tenth and final season of The Blacklist.

I was recording them when they aired and watched the first few episodes at the time, but when I got backlogged I realized my DVR was only recording five episodes at a time and overwriting old ones, and I couldn't access some episodes at that point.

For the most part, the season was fine. I found the overall conclusion to be rather lackluster though, given all we went through.

watched Chief of War on Apple TV. It is alright. Just wish they would just release the entire season. Weekly releases is kind of annoying.

Dexter: Resurrection continues to shine, as the show is headed toward a minimum three-season arc with Michael C Hall participating on-camera and behind the scenes. Hall pushed for Resurrection because he "did not want Dexter to die". Dexter guides Harrison similarly to Harry guiding Dexter both while alive and from the grave. If the powers that be avoid killing Dexter to make him a ghost, this series should thrive for a while.

The Dallas Cowboys doc (Netflix) is exceptional. Probably the most well made sports doc I've ever seen, unless we count the America's Game series.

Nothing groundbreaking as far as the team, they were so well covered at the time, and since.. but Jerry Jones passion for the team and the League are on full display. Guy can't get out of his own way as we all know... but If more owners were as invested as he is, every sport would be better off.

.. episode 7 is a waste of life. Skip it. Honestly. Unless you have zero clue what happened after the 3 Titles.

Enjoying Your Honor, now on Netlix. For some unexplained reason, Showtime is the one service we don't frequent (except for Dexter back in the day) and it looks like we missed out on a good one in this show. Glad we found it.

Another sign of television as we know it drastically changing.

A kids channel here in Canada is shutting down after being around since the 80s! There were 3 main channels for kids shows here (along with some channels that'd air kids shows during certain times, like PBS does), 1 of them shut down a few years ago (they were most know for airing Cartoon Network shows, WB kids shows, Family Guy, Futurama among others) and now the 2nd of 3 are shutting down (this channel used to be the best one for original Canadian content, but also had most Disney shows).

The 3rd of 3 is now losing all Nickelodeon rights (which was the main thing that network was known for), so the future of that channel could be in question.

And in the US, seems like there could soon be a big shift with their kids channels with things being streaming exclusive.

Obviously most kids today just watch streaming stuff anyways, but it's still sad to see all these kids channels dying, even if they're nothing like they were 15-30 years ago (what a time it used to be with these kinds of channels back in the day in their prime) But as a kid, you really don't need those tv channels anymore when you have streaming services, even free ones like YouTube kids, Pluto tv and so on have more than enough content where you don't need tv channels anymore.

I have decided to go HULU + after baseball season ends (I have MLB Extra Innings in DTV). 82.99 a month for 95 channels plus ESPN and Disney. Next year it will all fold into Disney Plus.

To me it's the best value and I will have all my sports vis ESPN, NFLN, FOX, NBC, ABC and CBS.

I finished Untamed, Mare of Easttown, and the first season of True Detective.

For me, Untamed sputtered pretty quickly. It wasn't a bad show, but it certainly was mediocre for me, and I don't have time to devote to shows that are only mediocre.

The other two were great, but since TD is an anthology series I don't know if the other seasons either hold up or allow me to invest the same way with brand new characters.

                                Funny how much things changed.

There was a time where people only got a few channels, then it slowly expanded, then people were thrilled when they could get hundreds of channels. Then it so quickly reversed where people only want a few channels.

Going through everything, I'd say I probably only regularly watch all of maybe 5 or so channels on tv (I'm including different versions of the same sports networks as 1 channel since you have to get 1 to get all), plus Netflix. Though I still occasionally channel flip to random channels during commercials in games (or just dead/boring parts of a game), but if I had to only choose to pay for channels I watch, I definitely would save money.

And even then, of those 5 channels, 3 of them are channels where you can watch shows for free the next day online (or they're available for free through Prime Video).

One of the benefits of having specific interests. I would hate it more if I had 1 show I watched per 10 different networks. Instead, something like sports could have multiple teams/games airing on the same networks (at least for now, as even that's starting to get split off where you'll need to subscribe to multiple networks plus a few streaming services just to watch your teams games).
