Re: What's good to watch on Netflix

We finished Stranger Things over the weekend. I think 8 episodes was a perfect length as it felt more like a really long movie. Glad the creators didn't try to stretch the story out over a 12 episode season.

Surprised by how satisfied I found the ending. I half expected things to finish up in a silly way, but walked away happy with how things wrapped up.

That's what I loved with Stanger Things, felt like a cinematic experience. Every person was part of the main plot, no side stories.

Unbreakable is an annoying because at first it's so exaggerated and light that you feel like you shouldn't like it but it grows on you a LOT. It's basically 30 Rock on Xanax.

Me and the Mrs are watching Master of None on the side while we finish up Bloodline...and it's laugh out loud funny at times...

I can usually only take Aziz in small doses but the writing is so good it has stayed fresh for me...

Totally agree, kind of disappointed that they are probably going to do a second season.

Why? The ending practically begs for another season.

Yeah, I don't quite get it either. "I enjoyed the show but I don't want to see any more of it" always seemed like a strange sentiment to me.

Same! It is kind of sad, too, given the state of many of the "student" athletes there.

I agree and I don't buy the "it will taint the greatness of S1" arguments either.

I think I'll finish up House of Cards and start Bloodline.

Not sure why, but I loved S1 and S2 of HOC, but having a hard time getting back into it. Only a few episodes into S3

Saw your post and decided to watch episode 1 with the wife.

Absolutely hilarious! My wife really likes musicals so that is a great addition to the comedy. Plus the Nipsey Hussle appearances

Great writing already. I'm going to enjoy this one.

Is crazy ex now on prime? I've had it sitting on my watch list for a year, waiting.

Edit. Wait this is the Netflix thread. I didn't realize it hit instant watch.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer
