Re: What's good to watch on Netflix
There is quite a bit. Mainly the Netflix produced shows and movies. Very few from other studios. I'm still not convinced its real 4k by any means. It sure looks nice but compared to true 4k content (like some nature docs) it doesn't seem to compare. But it getting better and the are offering HDR on 4k tvs that support it.Comment

Re: What's good to watch on Netflix
I thought I read somewhere it's not true 4K. It's a higher resolution for sure but not 4K."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: What's good to watch on Netflix
I think I said this in the another thread but can't remember which one. Anyway, I'm sure NetFlix in 4k looks good and all, but even without NetFlix 4K my KS8000 makes regular Netflix look way better than my 10-year-old LCD TV. The first night I got the TV I started No Country For Old Men and was blown away. I can't wrap my mind around how it could look better than it already does. Maybe I'll upgrade to NetFlix 4k in the future, but for now a) there's not enough content for me and b) The TV that I primarily watch Netflix on (in my bedroom) isn't a 4K TV, so don't see the need in paying the extra few bucks a month.
On another note, I finally finished The OA last weekend. I thought it was okay, but was somewhat let down by it. I mainly blame myself because I didn't know anything about the show when I started it and after the first episode I thought it was going to be some mix between Stranger Things and Twin Peaks. And it was umm, not that. I didn't necessarily think it was bad it just wasn't what I was expecting.
Don't read unless you've finished it:
SpoilerI hated the ending. Like What the hell? If she made all of that stuff up, then was she really abducted or not? I mean, she had to really be abducted because she had the scars and everything. So did she just make up the stuff about Homer and the other captives? I'm so confused. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Spoiler
All real and that was just a shaky event for the rest of them. They lost their faith for a moment.
I'm realizing I never read anything about the show so I just did. Well...wow, didn't know it was a popular opinion that she made up the story and that's the big reveal or twist.
I have a hard time seeing that as the thing. I'm not buying it.
This article brings up things I honestly never thought about. Never put a lot of thought to anything other than things are happening.
"What the heck just happened?" That was probably a pretty standard response to the Season 1 finale of The OA, the new Netflix drama that blew us all away with its story of a miraculous girl who may or may not be an angel and her self-professed…

Re: What's good to watch on Netflix
I didn't watch Frasier as a kid...primarily because its humor was too over my head.
Watching it on Netflix now...it's hilarious!Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Top Boy
Takes place in a housing project in East London. About two friends trying to come up in the drug game. Gives you a glimpse of how drugs affect folks in the area in a number of different ways, much like The Wire did.
Two season, four one-hour episodes each. So you won't have to invest too much time if it sounds like something that might interest you.Comment

I wasn't a kid when it first came on but I think it took me a year and a half to realize it was better than Cheers, particularly post-Shelly Long Cheers.Comment

omg so much smarter than Cheers...Cheers was once very smart and witty but just got dumber and less funny the longer it went on.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: What's good to watch on Netflix
Don't get me wrong-I still enjoyed later Cheers, but when you're writing for Rebecca Howe instead of Diane Chambers, smart and witty dialogue is going to go down.Comment
