For example, I think Amy Schumer is extremely unfunny, just a ****ing terrible "comedian". Her special had a 1 star rating whenever I saw it on Netflix. Perfect. Now under this new system, it's listed as a 95% match for me.

Pretty much everyone hates this system, I don't see any benefit to it whatsoever. It's like Netflix is trying to sabotage themselves.

          Example from someone from Reddit:

They need to bring the stars back ASAP.

What's worse is that it looks like I have to thumbs up/down movies I've already watched and rated.

They didn't think this through at all.

What the hell do they know is a match for me?

They were already matching things for you. The star system was based on users that watched and rated similar titles as you.

The only difference is now everything is either good or bad. There's no in between.

Seems like "ratings" systems all over the place are getting an overhaul, because in this age of everyone is so easily offended and we don't want to promote "negativity" (word makes me barf), they want to make everything look good. I like Netflix but their umpteen hundred categories up and down the board are just overkill.

If Amy Schumer is rated as recommended for anyone that alone is proof enough that the system is broke.

I like the new rating system so far on Netflix. It's simple and I can see myself using it much more then I ever did the star system. I've only messed with it on my, phone since my other apps have yet to update, but looks fine to me. To each their own I guess.

Almost gave up on Iron Fist after the first two episodes....All I could keep saying to myself and eventually out loud was... "DAMMIT!!! HE IS DANNY RAND YOU A-holes..." LOL! Then episodes 3 & 4 have put the series into full throttle...

You now have my attention Mr. Rand!

And to any OperationSports brethren that are 'foodies'.....

The documentary, Chef's Table is freakin' amazing! A DEFINITE must watch....and season 3 is in Dolby Vision!

The problem though, maybe minor to some, is it's not really taking your old ratings into account at all, hence many people getting a 90% match rate for an Amy Schumer special that they rated 1 star originally. That's just one example but there are many others that prove your old ratings aren't taken into account and you essentially have to rate everything all over again, which is a pain for people that rated a lot of titles.

Yeah this is problematic. Should have at least made 3+ a thumbs up and 2 or below a thumbs down.
