I know the buzz is gone, but I really enjoyed the Squid Games, so much I watched through twice. A season 2 is coming and will be an immediate watch.

The stories, the writing, acting. It has it all.
Can’t believe I waited as long as I did to finally getting around to watch this.
It is, but man, you're in a dark place after the end of each episode, which is why I stopped watching it.

Should clarify that they've added some sweetness in later seasons, but the general tenor of the show is bleak dystopia and it just wears you down. And as you've pointed out, what's striking is how plausibly realistic some of the episodes are.

I watched Tick, Tick...Boom! a few weeks back.

It's definitely eccentric and somewhat whimsical but what musicals aren't? The build-up of the characters, climax of the movie, it was all really well done...I thoroughly enjoyed it and almost teared up at the end which never happens.

I was hanging onto every word of this movie. Andrew Garfield really is a tremendous actor that doesn't get enough credibility.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

You're so right. The first watch through was on my Ipad in bed...I would lie awake for a long time afterward with this empty feeling. Second time through was with my wife and watching her reaction made my initial feelings worse.

Several times I asked myself why am I was putting myself through this?

The Witcher Season 2 was great. Much less jumping around timelines which helped it to deliver a more coherent story.

Really wish it was more than 8 episodes though. There is just so much to pack into it all. It just needs more time.

I'm only 3 episodes in, but I am absolutely loving it. Score another one for fantastic Korean shows.

I love how they spent time to insert some realism into the growth of the main character's combat abilities.

I was going to mention My Name. I hesitate watching most of the dramas on Netflix because most are cancelled after just one or two seasons with no conclusion to the story. I really liked the show well produced and acted. It is a one season 8 episode affair and seemed fairly concluded. Wonder if they plan on bringing back the character?

                        Unlikely.

Korean dramas tend to be 1 season affairs. I don't fully understand the dynamics of television over there, but there seems to be a reason for that.

Definitely a few shows that I would have loved to see get a second season, but there is also something nice when everyone goes into it knowing that this is a 1 shot. You don't have to worry about it dragging on to a point where it's no longer enjoyable.

Squid Game. Tried watching it a few weeks back got through the first 15 minutes and just turned it off. Went back to give it another shoot and man it is just crazy. Looking forward to season 2.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned Dark a German offering. Through season 1 and I think it might be worth a look. Got really good reviews.
