There’s a lot of conflict with what Netflix is preparing to do. I actually have a subscription to their service, but I’ll cut it on principle. I don’t want the other services (that I have a shared account with) following suit, so got to make sure they know this will have them lose customers even if they push some people towards getting their own subscription. Hopefully the people that ditch outweighs the new subscriptions so they feel the loss.

Re: What's good to watch on Netflix And Other Streaming Platforms
Honestly, they should've not only done this a long time ago, but they should've started out with this. Every streaming service should. I can't believe that I can give my MLB.TV password to like six of my friends and not have any trouble accessing any games to my liking. It's a great "deal," but it's stealing that they haven't enforced or restricted.
Bottom line, I don't think customers should be upset over some misplaced sense of false entitlement. One might be dismayed that they can't take advantage of a situation anymore, but Netflix is in the money-making business and currently they aren't doing any of that.
Some might stand on principle like you, slickdtc, but I think in the end their new subscriber base will have them better off financially when they throw on new seasons of Wednesday, Stranger Things, etc. and not sharing to the utmost extent that they do.
Personally, I wish streaming did completely away because it has ****ed with movie theaters, physical media, and cable services. I would be the happiest person alive if Netflix and the new streaming services have severed all ties.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

If I have to pay for Netflix why shouldn't everyone else?Comment

Re: What's good to watch on Netflix And Other Streaming Platforms
I pay almost $22 for 4 streams. Shouldn't matter where they are used.
Netflix has every right to do this, but people have every right to just not bother when a Netflix account anymore. They are 100% banking on the the leaches getting their own account. Will be interesting to see how that turns out.Comment

Even before listening to that not sure I would have called it a filler episode. I've seen way worse episodes that didn't advance the main plot.Comment

IMO Netflix has gone downhill so not really worth it for me when I pay for other services too. I may do a random month at a time to binge something but I can’t see myself ever paying for it consistently.
If services want to start doing this I feel a few of them need to lower prices to make it worth it

Re: What's good to watch on Netflix And Other Streaming Platforms
I really really really hope Netflix's password sharing thing bites the dust! I'm not sure how it will work plus all of my family/friends share our logins for all of these different streaming platforms. I don't want the hassle nor will I pay what I used to pay for cable just to watch TV.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Re: What's good to watch on Netflix And Other Streaming Platforms
You are paying for a number of active streams. They shouldn't outright do this but they should charge more for each active stream.
If you share with others, you most likely are each paying for a service or 2. They think this will get people to pay for the service but it won't work as people aren't willing to pay that cost. At most you may pick up some months only while people binge shows.
They should instead say any additional out of home stream is $5 or some small amount. That increases the revenue and doesn't cause people to cut the whole service.

Re: What's good to watch on Netflix And Other Streaming Platforms
I think the way it's set up is that you can have a solo account, share with 1 person (so no more than 2 streams are active at once) or a family plan I think with 5 devices?
Either way, Netflix has backtracked saying it was an "error", aka "we didn't think this many people would be this opposed to this rule, we won't do this anymore....for now."Comment
