Did you do a test build on a desk/table first or did you make the rookie mistake of throwing everything in the case first and hoping for the best?

No shame if you did, that's also a common mistake.

I mean I know how to put in the processor/cpu/power supply, RAM and graphics card however the cords are what confuse the **** out of me. So many of them everywhere. I tried following the manual as well.

But the rookie mistake is what I made.

I'm assuming you didn't get a modular power supply then?

Anyways, here's a quick link to test building.

Candy do what Burns said, remove everything and plug in only your mobo and cpu fan.

It could be several things. First I would rule out a faulty PS. Monitor your mobo beep codes, if it turns on.

Also makes sure everything is fully seated. Sometimes it can seem like it is seated yet it is not, ram in particular can give little trouble at times(If the mobo comes out fine after above step).

Now have you been protected from static? Going into a build without a static protector is doable and I've done it way more than I'd like to admit to, but it is not recommended for sure. Always a chance you could end up with dead mobo.

Well when I turn on the power supply theres a blue light where the power button is on the motherboard and a yellow light over top of the debug LED area so does that mean anything?

Yeah it means your motherboard isn't getting power. So either your PSU is faulty or motherboard is faulty.

Edit: Going to look through the user manual for this mobo.

I looked it up, the light by the Dr Debug is standby, light by power button is Power Supervisor (it would be red if the PSU gave more or less than 12v to the motherboard).

Candy, check the 8 pin CPU connector at the very top of the motherboard and make sure it's well seated.

                    Yea found some thing.

                    1.12.2.11
+5 V Standby Power Indicator LED
The +5 V standby power indicator LED shows that power is still present even when thecomputer appears to be off.
                    Figure 10
shows the location of the standby power LED.

                    CAUTION
If AC power has been switched off and the standby power indicator is still lit,
disconnect the power cord before installing or removing any devices connected to the board. Failure to do so could damage the board and any attached devices.

                    Power Supervisor

The Power Supervisor actively monitors the input voltages from the power supply and
protects the board and any attached peripherals from electrical overstress and possible
physical damage. The Power Supervisor will activate if it detects the power supply
voltage rails have deviated outside the current ATX power supply specification and safe
                    operating levels.

If the Power Supervisor detects an out of spec voltage, the following will happen:
                    1. The board will be powered down immediately to protect circuits from electrical
                    overstress and possible physical damage.
                    2. A red warning LED on the board will activate as a visual cue.
                    3. During the next power on, a message will be
displayed on the screen to notify the user that the power supply voltage rails have deviated outside the current ATX power supply specification and safe operating levels.
                    4. A message will be added to the BIOS Event Log for each event that takes place
until the BIOS Event Log is cleared.

Thanks btw when I looked up my graphics card on tiger direct it said something about it being a 500 minimum power supply. Could it be my 750 watt is not powerful enough?

I have to check again but the whole power button lights up, nothing by it and I think it's either blue or yellow. I will have to be sure when I get home.

PSU should be fine, but what you really need to know is look on the PSU and you'll see a chart, it will have listed +3.3v, +5v, +12v (could have +12v1, +12v2, etc, if it has multiple rails), -12v, and +5vsb (that's standby voltage). Under +12v it will have ##A, that's what matters. Should look similar to this:

So you are talking about the power button on the case, or motherboard?

Dre, you don't need liquid cooling but if you have good fans then OC'ing is nothing to worry about.

                              And clean that dust...

Yeah... High end air coolers either perform at par with (or out perform) anything pre-bought (like the H60/H80/H100) all-in-one water cooling solutions.

I have an OC'd 3930k with SLI GTX 680s, and my heatsink/fan combo is this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835608018 (***NOTE***: I do NOT recommend that you buy this, unless you have a gigantic case. It will not fit. This thing is huge. However, if you do have a very large case... I highly recommend it. Nobody makes better fans than Noctua.)

I have... 6 of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835608017 in my case (between the 120/140mm sizes.) They are a bit pricy, but they are extremely silent (My computer is left on overnight right next to my bed and I barely hear them) and they push a whole lot of air. My temps are anywhere from 35-

They might be considered ugly by some, but if I ever need fans or anything air cooling related I swear by Noctua.

This is normal for me... under full stress I may push 65ish to a rare 70 (depending on the temp in our apartment, as I have no AC here and it can get hot during the summer.)
