ollie, brother, you're misled man. I use my 360 controller (wireless) on the PC for my sports games. So you get the best of both worlds. If you're an online man, 2k12 is best played on a console though. Online is atrocious on PC.

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
My desktop is 30 feet away from the plasma in the living room. I have never had any issues with the wireless 360 controller from that far. Sometimes I'll just sit at the desk to play on the LCD. A lot of PC reviews and impressions people tend to like the wired controller better.Comment

It's really not as hard as it seems. Here is one guide - http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2396569,00.asp
Of course there are plenty more out there. Having someone guide you along helps obviously.Comment

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
Well if you're a graphics whore then you would want to play those games in higher res and its more precise to aim a weapon with a mouse than with a controller. I have BF3 setup for m&k BUT when it comes to jets or the helis I use the controller. It's actually flawless when switching back and forth.
wut? I have this hooked up with no problems...currently only sports game I'm playing is NBA 2k I will wait till FIFA goes on sale...Comment

What are your guy's opinions on antivirus programs? Does it get in the way of downloading and installing mods for games?Originally posted by MoJust once I'd like to be the one they call a jerk off.Originally posted by MoYou underestimate my lazinessOriginally posted by Mo**** ya

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
I didn't think of using a controller actually haha. I PC game for the use of a mouse and keyboard. Sports games for me are usually played with my friends and taken to other people houses. So dragging my PC to their house wouldn't be practical.Comment

It does not get in the way of installing games or mods. Whatever you do, don't pay for one. Go to CNET.com and click on the download section and get AVG or AVAST. Both are free and have me virus free for years. You can also get free malware programs as well.Comment

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
Sports games to me are better using the 360 controller on the PC. They are just designed that way. Any FPS or games like Skyrim, mouse and keyboard rules the day. Much tighter control scheme. It may take some getting used to it, but once you do, it is light years better for FPS type games than the controller will ever be.Comment

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
Use this
Download Avast Free Antivirus latest version for Windows free. Avast Free Antivirus latest update: September 2, 2025
this
and this
Download Malwarebytes latest version for Windows free to try. Malwarebytes latest update: October 10, 2025
Avast is virus protection. CCleaner will clear out your temporary files and other trash left behind. Malwarebytes cleans out spyware and other stuff like that. Avast is always running. The other I run whenever I think about it.Comment

A PS3 controller can also be used, just need software to run it. I'm not sure if its improved to wireless but atleast it being wired it works just fine. No price for it or anything.Sports games to me are better using the 360 controller on the PC. They are just designed that way. Any FPS or games like Skyrim, mouse and keyboard rules the day.
