I thought the Bo doc was actually kind of boring.

Didn't really tell me anything I didn't already know.

I liked it as I knew nothing about him other then he won a Heisman at Auburn. I wasn't aware how great of an athlete he was, seems like in today's terms you'd have combine like Giancarlo Stanton and Adrian Peterson to get that.

I know I'm behind, but I just watched Benji. I enjoyed it. Realizing Wilson is the reasoning behind Nick Anderson and Juwan Howard rocking #25 added another layer to those guys for me.

The newest one about the NC State basketball team and Jimmy V is really good.

Looks like the next one will be Elway to Marino about the six quarterbacks drafted in the first round of the 1983 draft. That has potential.

Unguarded, the one about Chris Herren, was pretty powerful. I was not expecting too much beyond the ol' "Herren could have been something but did drugs instead" but his blunt honesty and the willingness to bear it all made it pretty compelling.

The reaction by Reynolds puts that play over the top. The replay honestly looks fake but it did indeed happen. Like Knight said, Bo had an absolute cannon for an arm and I like how the film talked about how he developed that arm as a kid.

Just a genetic freak, similar to Herschel Walker; neither guy really lifted weights, which is just insane.

Bo Jackson was in many ways the last super-hero. ESPN was just becoming a big deal when Bo was in his prime so we (fans) weren't over-exposed to him; for the most part, you saw few highlights, read stories and heard stories from those that say unthinkable things.

Pretty cool that he had that mythic quality to him and it still lives on today.

The Bartman documentary was another solid one. I watched it in pieces though, so the 1hr 48m run time was more manageable (though it seemed to move at a good pace on its own).

As an outsider, I've always felt the flak given to Bartman far outweighed what he did, but I had no idea how severe it really was. Folks coming down to fight him in the middle of the game? Throwing things at him? Trying to attack him while being escorted by security? It was straight lynch mob status. It was actually pretty scary to watch, knowing all it takes is for a guy to make a mistake at the wrong time, and suddenly everyone begins feeding off one another's anger and justifying each of their own distasteful actions.

Again as an outsider, but as someone who watched that game, Bartman's action was regrettable, but so was the play of that Cubs team for that entire inning. It seems some would prefer to ignore that. It's one thing to have a little fun believing in a curse and whatnot. It's another to be committed to the idea of a curse enough to tell a guy he should have a 12 gauge stuffed in his mouth because he tipped a foul ball.

Yeah what Bartman had to go through was pretty rough. That's probably one of my least-favorite of the 30-for-30 series. Didn't shed any new light on the situation and no Bartman interview.

I watched the 30-for-30 short "The Irrelevant Giant" about John Tuggle, the last pick of the 1983 NFL Draft. I was very young when Tuggle played so never knew the story. Pretty powerful and could easily make a full-length feature. Bill Parcells is refreshingly honest in this.

Good time for a bump. Tomorrow's should be good. Two showings at 8:00PM and 9:30PM Eastern - both on ESPN, From Elway to Marino.

Crap, I might have plans then. Though those plans could possibly be better.

Apparently, this is the lone "30 For 30" made by NFL Films as well...

                                Looks like ANOTHER "must see":

Stream the film Elway to Marino on Watch ESPN. A look at the 1983 NFL Draft and the six quarterbacks taken in its first round.
