Re: Iron Man 3
SpoilerOnly saw it once, but I thought that was the point of it. Re: Iron Man 3
I ****ing loved it. Probably because everyone (I saw it the week after it opened so mostly reviews, not people I knew or anything) said it was so bad, so my expectations were lowered. I'm not sure how much of this needs to be spoilered, so I'll just do all of it:
Spoiler
The Mandarin thing really hurt me, because I know how it was supposed to go, and I really love Iron Man, he's probably my second favorite superhero after Superman. They took the most powerful and potentially awesome movie villain they could have, and **** all over it.
Having said that, I liked it. I liked seeing a more human side of Stark, made the whole thing more believable to me. He is a person after all, not a robot. Everyone was upset about him not having his suit for large parts of the movie, I thought that was awesome. I don't know why people think he wouldn't have undergone some sort of hand to hand combat training, especially doing work with SHIELD and the Avengers. He probably picked some stuff up sparring with Captain America and Black Widow. I loved Iron Man 1, thought it was a solid 9/10. Hated 2, 7/10. The entire movie got thrown away at the end when Whiplash essentially got destroyed in 10 seconds after a Eureka moment, that was dumb I thought.
The reason I like this movie, aside from the fact that they ruined Mandarin, was just because unlike Iron Man 2 to me, this movie wasn't about the villain. It was about the heroes. RDJ did another great job playing Tony, making him a more relatable character, and the PTSD was awesome and made a lot of sense after what he went through with the Avengers. Cheadle played a really good Rhodey to me, and I'm now glad that they got rid of Terrence Howard after the first movie because I don't think I would've been able to take him seriously in the role he would've had to play in this movie. Pepper was great I thought. I dunno, I will admit I'm far from objective because I basically left the Iron Man 2 theater saying "I know Iron Man 3 is going to be great because that was the worst thing I've ever seen", but I truly enjoyed it. Take out the villain, and it was just an awesome movie about how Tony is dealing with the problems that arose from The Avengers, and I thought that was really cool. Again, as a fan of Iron Man the character over anything, it was very enjoyable.
Super excited to see where they take the character from here in Avengers 2. Psyched!

Re: Iron Man 3
I should say that the reason I hated 2 was basically because of the ending. I thought it was a pretty good experience up until the last fight, and then the entire movie was thrown away in 10 seconds. It just seemed very weak to me. As far as a 3/10, I'm not even sure I could ever dislike a movie that much. I almost hated TDKR that much though, that's like a 5/10 to me.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: Iron Man 3
My biggest problem with the Iron Man movies is that all of their villains have been **** and basically afterthoughts. Then the one time it looks like they finally have a worthy villain, they go and do what they did in this movie.
To me it's no coincidence that the best superhero movies have well-developed villains. Although funny enough Iron Man 1 is probably the exception to this.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: Iron Man 3
I would say typo, but that's hardly believable.
But yes, that's the pinnacle of the memorable Marvel villains. Or at least in the Iron Man series.

Are we only talking about the current Avengers movie-verse? Because if not, Magneto was pretty good in the X-Men movies I thought.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it
