To be fair to those two, the dialogue just plain sucked. Was a bit better in Revenge of the Sith, but holy hell their "romantic" scenes in Attack of the Clones was painful to watch. George Lucas simply wasn't as good with dialogue compared to everything else.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens
I really hated giving Anakin a "human" back-story. At least the way we got it, because it was basically a tween-rom melodrama. Given the quality of writing and Hayden's lack of chemistry with anything other than a wall, I never cared about Anakin's fall into the Dark Side. Vader's legitimately, most interesting scene is when he chops off Luke's hand and is like, "oh yeah, by the way, I'm your dad." Everything after that feels rushed to explain how he turned bad, him turning back to good, and how he fathered a farm boy and Princess (never acknowledging the Princess as his daughter in any of their encounters).
Still, all the prequels felt hammy and corny the same way Return of the Jedi did in parts.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens
Its funny because a while back I didn't think the movie was even go to make a billion WW lol because of how bad the prequels where. But I think I underestimated how much a long time with out a movie makes people excited for another star wars movie like with Jurassic world being the first Jurassic movie in a long time. I heard about the 600 WW first weekend and 300 USA didn't hear about the 1 billion thing though. I didn't think we would hit 300 USA first weekend in a long long time. I mean there has only been 2 movies to make 200 million so if it makes 300 USA first weekend that would crush that record. Jurassic world made 208 million so 300 would break that by 92 million and that is with being a December movie to. Jurassic world has the most WW in its first weekend at like 560 million or something and so if this movie really makes 92 million more USA then world did in its first weekend that 600 WW first weekend may be low lol.Comment

I think time has exaggerated how "bad" the prequels are too. It's become a "cool" thing to hate the prequels. Phantom Menace got 57% on Rotten Tomatoes and Clones got 67%. Neither is great, but neither of those scores remotely indicate terrible. Sith actually gets a better score than Jedi. Sith also made almost $400 million domestic 10 years ago.

Um, he didn't know he had a daughter until his final battle with Luke ("A sister. Your twin sister. Obi-wan was wise to hide her from me. If you can't be turned, then maybe she will.") He assumed the baby(ies) died with Padme until he heard the name "Luke Skywalker".Comment

I didn't really no about RT in till like 4-5 years ago I think or at least how it works but I found out like 2 years ago about the score episode 1 and 2 got and I have no clue how they didn't get a lower score. Episode 1 and 2 are terrible a 57 and a 67 are to high for those movies. They should have been like a 10. At the same time episode 1 made like 950 million or something before they had it come back out in 3d a few years ago. If episode 1 witch really sucked could make almost a billion when that was 16 years ago with no 3d and lower ticket prices and a much smaller international market I guess I should have know this movie would be big.Comment

Re: Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens
To each their own. Episode I is the worst of the series. It's still a very watchable movie. The climax with Qui Gon and Obi Wan vs Darth Maul is awesome. The second best lightsaber duel in the series. Attack of the Clones had some really cool moments. There's plenty of bad with both, but there's enough good to make them still fun movies to watch.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens
Episode 2, the love scenes with Padme was awful. But the chase through Coruscant, Obi Wan/Jengo fight, everything on Geonosis, Anakin slaughtering the sand people, all great imo, and it gets a bad reputation as being terrible too.
