Man got out of 4dx and it was amazing. It's a total different experience than seeing it normal and made it must have better seeing it the 2nd time.

        Awesome movie!
While I don't believe any future SW film will match what Lucas and co did with the Originals, this was pretty freaking close.

And I totally get where Abrams was going with this in terms of characters, plot and special effects.
I was watching my 12YO and 9YO son and the expressions on their faces throughout the film were priceless.
It made me think that perhaps that's how my face looked when my Dad took me and my brothers to see the Originals when we were that age.
This will be their SW Trilogy of their generation.

My 9YO said it was the greatest movie he's ever seen. Both want to go back as soon as possible.

Abrams did an amazing job and I can't wait to see how he finishes Episodes 8 and 9.
And I don't think it can be said enough, but I just LOVE how he used real-sets, actors and props to blend a perfect mix of real and CGI action.
It definitely had that Old-School flavour that I recall from the Originals.

The only thing I had an issue with was...
        Spoiler

Other than that, loved everything about the movie.

        PS:
I'd rank this 3rd in the series behind Empire and New Hope and neck-and-neck with Return of the Jedi.

You could tell me this was the greatest star wars film ever made and you wouldn't hear a disagreement from me.

You could also tell me that there was an original trilogy movie better, and I still probably wouldn't disagree. It was greatness, and there were moments when I had legitimate goosebumps. Bravo and well done.

IDK about y'all, but the biggest pop in the theater I was in wasn't those two moments, rather when BB8 gave the thumbs up. I can't believe that was a thing that happened in a Star Wars movie and everybody enjoyed it

It may be Lucas' story but Kasdan is the heart of Star Wars. That film had everything that the first three were missing that made 4,5,&6 so great.

Love the glowing reviews. Unfortunately for me, I'll have to wait until Christmas weekend before I can see it. My wife and I have two small kids at home and we won't have a sitter available until then. I'll have to dip and dodge around the internet for a week to keep myself unspoiled.

Speaking as a casual at best fan of the series, I'm excited to go back and re-watch all of the movies and I can't wait for what's in store next. JJ knocked it out of the park and I'm pretty sure every single Star Wars fan is proud of this film.

I immediately started looking up stuff on Episode VIII last night and was very disappointed to learn that JJ isn't directing Episode VIII or IX. It's someone named Rian Johnson. He's got some big shoes to fill here.

Rian Johnson is an excellent director/filmmaker. His first film, "Brick" is one of the great directorial debuts of the last decade. He also directed some of Breaking Bad's best episodes—including, perhaps its best, "Ozymandias"

I wouldn't worry too much about him, but understand the concern. JJ performed under huge pressure.

I'm more worried about Kasden not being involved after comparing 7 with the other 6. Johnson can match Abrams but comparing the 7 films together you can almost feel what Kasden brings to the films. I will say I'm now looking forward to the Han origin movie just as much as Episode VIII.
