Re: Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

Saw it midnight on Thursday. Good movie, but I'm disappointed in the highly derivative, unoriginal story. I like almost all the new characters and I think this will set up the ST for success. I wish they hadn't made one into a Mary Sue, however.. It's somewhere between TPM and AOTC right now for me on ranking of the saga, and I await a second viewing to assess it completely.
The Last of Us is the Citizen Kane of video-games. It is better than every game that has ever come before it, and is the new benchmark for all games to follow. It is nothing short of a work of art.

I see a lot of criticism over the new villain. I honestly think he is the most intriguing new character from the movie.

Making him a 100% Vader clone would have been a complete and utter cop out.

Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

I loved Kylo despite being unsure of the guy playing him. He seems so unhinged and emotional which is great compared to Vader/Emperor/Dooku who just seemed so calm all the time. And not the emotional way of Anakin with all the lovey dovey **** and whining

I actually prefer him to Vader...he has more depth, humanity to him, IMO, and that makes him seem more realistic/ominous.

Exactly. People keep forgetting this is the first movie of a trilogy. These characters are going to be developing as we go along.

To me the supreme leader is the most intriguing character. I just want to know more and more about him. Kylo though is so perfect, he's so different from Vader it's masterful.

Really enjoyed the movie & all the characters. Kylo ren is great as he idolizes vader but struggles to be like him & is an emotional mess.

I don't know I have been hearing a lot of love for him and I don't get it he is just a poor man's vader. Really he is like the worst part of the movie yet ever body loves him I don't get it.

He's just a kid, relative to Vader. Acted like it too, but that was intentional and will provide even greater contrast when

LOVED this movie. The acting, the dialogue, the characters, just about everything was enjoyable. I'm glad I was able to avoid spoilers and I cannot wait to watch it again.

There really isn't anything to get. A lot of people like the character, you and a lot of other people dislike him. You just feel it or you don't.

                                Welp.

Avoided spoilers flawlessly up to this point. Figured I would log into TF2 and play some surf maps before the UFC main card tonight.

                                Bad idea.

That's on me though. Should have stuck with console games. That's a typical Steam community move.
