Re: Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

I saw it a 2nd time but this time with my mom. She's a huuuuggee Star Wars fan, has the Empire symbol tatoo'd on her ankle, etc. She absolutely started balling you know towards the end of the movie.

I just can't express how fun of a movie this is even a 2nd time. I know we're getting one Star Wars movie a year from now on and I couldn't be happier for that.

I saw it on opening night. I'm not a huge Star Wars fan (as in I haven't seen a Star Wars movie in probably a decade), but it was enjoyable.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

Just saw it a second time tonight, my friend dragged me along. Well, I don't want to say "dragged" like it's a bad thing, just with The Big Short now out I was hoping to officially catch that one. Nevertheless, a second 3D viewing of this didn't hurt.

BB-8 is absolutely adorable, which makes me feel like the first half of this film is better than the last half, probably because there is just more BB-8 in general haha. Either way, I think this film is very entertaining and I will be getting the Blu-ray. Besides the nostalgia factor though, I don't know where any "best movie ever" claims should be earned. I'm guessing the hype was up more so than anything else for people who came out loving it more than their own children, and that should die down a bit... until Episode VIII!

EDIT: So this morning, my brother-in-law asked, "Did you catch any 'little things' seeing it a second time?" and I said no. Come to think of it, this film is pretty surface-level. Sure, we can dissect Kylo Ren's ambitions and speculate on what sequels will bring about, but this isn't The New Hope where you can just write essays on the depth of each little molecule of the film. So, while this one may be more Hollywood and not be expected to discuss for years to come (as you already know, two more will be released in two years)... it's still my favorite of the bunch.

Taking the whole family today and getting my 2nd viewing in. My kids (9, 7, 5, and 2) are beyond stoked. They are huge Star Wars fans (because you got to teach the fundamentals lol) and can't wait. Should be really fun to watch their expressions as it goes along. I already know every time a character appears on screen the first time my 2 year old is going to call out his name lol.

So I saw the movie a second time on Tuesday and I just have to say I take back what I said about this movie being new hope 2.0. The movie is not just new hope 2.0. There are some things that are similar but it is much different and I cant want for episode 8. The movie is so much better a second time and man is Rey so darn cute.

I can't wait to see it again. There's a theater in town that's only $6 on Mondays. Still want to see it in imax too.

I live in a smaller area. The town I live in is about 12000 people but I normally go to the theater in the next town by me that has about 16000 people. So a little bigger just because I like the theater better. They do $6 Tuesday like how your theater does Mondays. That was when I saw it the second time. I will most likely see it again with my mom because there are not a lot of movies that she is willing to see with me. After that I will most likely want for the bluray. I have only seen 2 movies in IMAX Jurassic world and a history film when I was much younger on a field trip. I wouldn't mind doing IMAX but I don't really know how to get there to the closest one to me that is around a hour or so from my house.

Small thing I noticed 2nd time watching was in the opening scene when the Star Destroyer comes into view the front of it is shaped just like Kylo Rens lightsaber. I thought that was cool.

Yeah I saw it in 3-D not needed at all. To me it's just a gimmick to inflate ticket prices. When I bought my tickets early on regular wasn't available so had to go with 3-D when pre-ordering.
