      I too saw it multiple times in theaters, even though I think the BD purchase would have felt more special had I only seen it once in cinema.

      I think what makes this film so good is a few things.

      1. Characters- You really understand and fell for the characters

      2. So darn funny- This movie is by far the funniest stars movie but it is not to cheesy though.

      3. Emotion- This goes back to number 1 but you really care about the characters

      4. Good action but doesn't take away from the characters- Even though the action is good it doesn't over shadow the characters or fell to long or any thing.

      5. The way the light is used in this movie is just great and the angle you see things.

      6. Good score- I don't know how I would rank the score compared to the another star war movies and I have heard some people say the score wasn't that good but I have to disagree with that. Rey's theme, scavenger and also Kylo theme are all great just to name a few.

        Re: Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

        ^ I won't disagree with any of that. I would argue though that Abrams' Star Trek 2009 reboot is the better of the two films, though. Not that I think everybody should agree with that or anything, but if anybody comes to SW's defense that "it was better/funnier than the SW films before it" may not be saying much for some people.

        Anyway, I came into both of these franchises not having been a fan of either before I sprung into action with them, so I can't really be considered in the "Star Wars vs. Star Trek" debate anyway, nor would I want to. As it stands though, I am much more excited for Episode VII than I am for Beyond, and I thought Episode VII was fine, save the last act not really being anything special in my view.

        I think the moment Ren removes his mask for the first time is also the turning point... not because of that moment itself, in fact I liked that as it really showed that he was different from Vader (and I also liked that he tried to surpass him but maybe never can), but I just felt that everything after that scene was... eh, was good, but the first "half" was the better half IMO.

          After reading through the thread, I saw people talk about spoilers and how it's been out for quite a while so spoiler tags weren't exactly needed anymore. I wasn't trying to be "rebellious" as you put it though and I wasn't saying what happened, spoiling it or whatever because I had it spoiled for me. I was under the impression it was okay. Just trying to clear my name, so to speak.

          I must've misread or something, but thanks for putting that in spoiler tags for me. Sorry if anyone was spoiled because of my post. I could've sworn I saw someone say something along the lines of "if you don't want to get spoiled, don't go into the thread" or something along those lines. But if you haven't seen it, go watch the damn movie already it's amazing! Lol

          Really, though, sorry.

          As far as Snoke being Vader, I don't think that's true at all, but it was interesting, just like some of the other theories I posted.

            This quote among others are what I'm referring to, by the way. Probably should've taken into account that one person or a couple people thinking no spoilers are fine, doesn't mean everyone else is gonna keep away from this thread. I mean, cmon, it freaking Star Wars for cryin out loud! Sorry, not trying to derail the thread.

                This is what's stated in the spoiler rules sticky:

                I think I may have caused a tiny commotion and misunderstanding of the proper use of the spoiler tags in this forum, so let me clear it up (and publicly state that I was wrong in the Flash/Arrow threads for what I stated, and am extremely sorry for pointing out the incorrect use of spoiler tags).<br />
                <br />
                <b>TV SHOWS - </b> Spoiler tags until after the show airs. So if a show starts at 8 PM and lasts for an hour, 9 PM you can stop using spoiler tags. WEST COASTERS BEWARE - This is not time zone sensitive.<br />
                <br />
                <b>THEATRICAL RELEASE MOVIES</b> - Spoiler tags until the Monday after release. If a movie releases on a Thursday/Friday, please wait until Monday morning before not using spoiler tags.<br />
                <br />
                <b>NETFLIX RELEASES</b> - This is up for debate. I believe Netflix releases most of their big original series on Fridays, so if that is the case I would say the same rule as Theatrical Releases (Monday mornings), but I'd welcome suggestions.<br />
                <br />
                Can anyone think of any other reasons to use spoiler tags?

                Pretty sure you were in the right bro. Don't sweat it. And seriously if you haven't seen it why the hell would you even be in the thread where nothing but the movie is being discussed? Makes no sense.

                    Saw it a second time yesterday and loved it as much as the first. Went to a 3D showing this time and it did make the X-wing battles cooler, but other than that, didn't add a whole lot. Plan to see at least 1 more time in theaters if I can make time for it.

                        I have seen it 3 times my self has while 1 time in 3d and 2 times in regular 2d not going to get to see it in IMAX though but yep it is back. I know most people like ESB the most but I like ROTJ the most. I cant decide if this movie or ESB is my second favorite though it is close.

                          I've always been a defender of Episodes 1 and 2 basically because they were Star Wars movies, so they have to be great, right? I've been re-watching all of the movies and just watched Phantom Menace this weekend. I realized how much less I enjoyed it after having seen how great Force Awakens was. I'm wondering if I will feel the same about Attack of the Clones as well.
                          My rankings: 4,5,6/7,3,2,1 - Once I have TFA on video and I can watch several more times, it will probably move ahead of ROTJ
