Re: Dexter (Season 8)
I actually really liked the Seinfeld finale. It was made in the same tone the whole series had. There was never a moment in Seinfeld where any moment was touching. It was all dark humour. It would have felt weird having the characters saying these emotional goodbyes to each other. The finale was goofy just like the series had always been. I thought it was perfect.
Even Jerry joked about the last show not being all that great on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" when that show came up with the "Seinfeld Reunion". That's not totally relevant to how you or others see it, but I just could have done without the parade of past supporting characters at their trial and the final incarceration scene.
And maybe I wasn't crazy about it because it was the last show. LOL.Comment

Re: Dexter (Season 8)
I made it through season five. My girlfriend made it through six. Lithgow was incredible in four and that was great season overall (the only great season I saw, actually), but the structure of the seasons was just too formula and the overarching story was never really pushed forward or even developed much in the first place.
Disappointing show. Glad I bailed before it got even worse.Comment

Re: Dexter (Season 8)
As much as I liked seasons 1,2 and 4, I don't think I can ever watch them again due to the mostly horrid seasons of the last few years. The thought of how this series was gonna end was always in the back of my mind as I enjoyed the early seasons. I found Dexter to be so likeable that it bothered me, but also intrigued me, that eventually he would have to die or be sent to prison for life and I honestly couldn't wait to see how the series would end.
But then they turned him into a weenie with no redeeming value who was indecisive and easily manipulated. That wasn't character growth, it was a totally different character who deserved death because he was unlikable. And the writers couldn't even deliver on that.
He was supposed to be emotionally vacant as serial killers tend to be yet falls for a unlikable killer like Hannah because she was a hot piece of ***. Made no sense and everything went off the rails at that point in S7. Crap like this leaves such a bad taste that's it's pointless to watch early seasons because knowing how it actually turned out is now always in the back of my mind.Comment

File this under foreshadowing:

Also, I've been thinking about it and, does anyone else think the door was left wide open for a Dexter return a few years down the line?
I know, I can hear the groans already, but if they take a few years off and crack out a really good and tight script, they have something to work with that could give us the season we wanted (Dexter on the run/being found out).
Quinn basically knows after the finale. Angel kinda sorta knows something is up as well after watching the kill of Saxon. They could very easily have one last season of Dexter coming out of hiding for some reason, while also having Angel finally piece together the history of what Dexter had done right under his and everyone else's noses (LaGuerta, Doakes, etc). Plus you still have Hannah and Elway and Harrison could be older and a lot less worthless, possibly showing signs of going down the same path as his father.
There's still quite a bit left on the table if you ask meand if they could actually take their time and form something intriguing that wasn't filled with plot holes and whatnot, there could be something really good here and they could give the show a much better and more fulfilling conclusion.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

It would be just too goofy for him to return to Miami to make a plausible story. That would mean Hannah (maybe she decided to actually cut and dye her hair this time) and Harrison would need to return to Miami and do they forget that someone pulled the plug and abducted Deb. And do you really want to watch the show without Deb? And how is Dexter supposed to return. He faked his death which is a major felony as well as killing his sister. Even the dolts at Miami Metro would have figured out he pulled the plug so I don't think he would be able to get his old job back even in this show's illogical universe.
The only way he could come back would be in a different city with an entirely new cast and doing that would be kinda pointless. And to assume we would get a show with no huge plot holes and goofy incidents when it's always happened that way is alot to ask for. If you think Dexter was treated like a superhero the last few seasons, it would be even worse with a comeback season if he was the only returning character.
The only reason Dexter would come back would be at Showtime's insistence as a cash cow and anything done entirely for money always ends badly.Last edited by Seymour Scagnetti; 09-27-2013, 11:04 PM.Comment

Re: Dexter (Season 8)
I wasn't able to watch this season after mid-August because I moved but with the way they had been going, I'm not surprised that the last episode was as ****ty as the reviews say it was. It's a shame seeing how well Breaking Bad is doing with their last season, then looking at how Dexter just went out with a whimper.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

I am glad they did not go out with a happy ending like a lot of people would have probably liked. I did not care for the final scene. I think the show should have ended with Harrison and Hanna walking away.Comment

Were people asking for a happy ending? Personally, I wanted Dexter to end up in jail.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
