Same here. So when he showed up in Wolverine, I had no idea it was him (was there even a reference to the name?). I guess in the long run it won't ruin a thing for me. Pretty amazing they got the same actor to play the role, however. Little bit I've seen of him, he strikes me as a wise-crackin' Spidey character, though an R rated version, and less merciful.

He is the merc with the mouth. He is very graphic when speaking. And in Wolverine yes they mention him, but a casual fan would not know it because he is not referred to as Deadpool. He is called his real name Wade Wilson. I think they just call him Wade though.

There's no chance they're not including something as vital as his hand to hand combat prowess. Same with blade weapons, his ability to heal etc.

Yeah, judging from how he kicked the crap out of those guys in the Escalade in the test footage, I think it's safe to say his combat skills will not be forgotten.

If this movie is successful I really hope they do a big screen adaptation of the Night of/Return of the Living Deadpool books Marvel has been doing. I think a mashup of Deadpool and zombies would be a great combination on film.
