Both are too old also. Ejiofor will be 40 when BP comes out and Hounsou is older than that. Bozeman is red hot coming off of his James Brown and Jackie Robinson roles so I understand why they went with the younger actors.

It seems they're grinding through their backlog pretty quickly here.
Assuming that these new franchises are hits, look at all the potential movies they have after Phase 3:

      Ant Man 2-3
      Black Panther 2-3
      GOTG 3
      Captain Marvel 2-3
      Inhumans 2-3
      New Hulk standalone

Thats not even factoring in a potential Iron Man reboot and if Marvel is able to buy back the rights to Spiderman, Xmen and Fantastic Four.

Still plenty of films left to do.

I don't know why the need for all of these "reboots". A reboot to me would signify that the first time it was done it wasn't done well. There's no need to re-tell the origin. It would be the task of finding another actor who could pull off the role like Downey has, sort of like what they've done with James Bond (though Connery's shoes have always been tough to fill).

I used the word "reboot" but I imagine with Iron Man it will be a case of Downey passing the torch to someone else. Still not all reboots are because it wasnt done well the first time. Most people liked the original Batman and Superman movies (not some of the sequels) but there are different ways to tell the story and after enough time a new generation may want to see a new version of those superheroes.

Regarding Iron Man I think that's one comic book to film that could end up being like the Bond films. You don't necessarily HAVE TO reboot it once Downey leaves, just have another guy in the suit and carry on like nothing much changed.

I think that's the best way to handle it IMO.

Yeah, Marvel has already stated they're kinda done with origins and Stark will be treated like Bond rather than rebooted. Someone will either step in or the mantle will be passed to another character I expect.

Not that RDJ could ever be topped, this role is beyond perfect for him, but it's a disappointment we'll have to get over one day.

Agree that there's still plenty to do, not afraid of burnout at ~3 Marvel movies/year, more afraid of DC falling on it's face and having fewer super heroes on the big screen

I think your point still stands, he's come into his acting prime fairly late, doesn't look his age. The others do.

Ejiofor looks older than he really is. His age was never a factor to me but still, I was surprised to see that he was only 37. Younger than RDJ, Ruffalo, Renner and Bettany so yeah, he's not too old. T'Challa always seemed like a middle aged(or near) man to me anyway. That said, I have no problem with the guy they picked, was just speaking on who I always envisioned in the role as a fan.

Not afraid of burnout. If the movies released were terrible, I'd agree. Cap 2 and Guardians were well done. As long as Marvel keeps that quality people will watch. DC movies have me more skeptical. I think if Batman v Supes struggles DC and its future movies could be in big trouble

I think there are two Avengers sequels coming out after Age of Ultron, and it's Part 1 and Part 2 of Infinity War.

I haven't looked at the teaser yet though.
