Was watching Black Hawk Down (20 year anniversary was this week), and I noticed a familiar face. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau plays Gary Gordon a special forces sniper who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his sacrifice during the fight. Seen that movie probably 15 times never knew it was him.

Figured I'd ask in here since I don't think we have a thread for the books. I just finished ASOS, and since they occur at the same time has anyone tried to read AFFC and ADWD concurrently? I came across a reading order to flip between the 2 books.

Caught up on this over winter break and damn it was great, can't freaking wait for the new season.

I've started reading the first book in my spare time at night but not really sure how far I'm gonna go as I don't want to ruin the show too much in any way.

I've started reading the first book in my spare time at night but not really sure how far I'm gonna go as I don't want to ruin the show too much in any way.

I consider them separate entities personally. There are a few characters not cast in the show that are in the books and some of the scenes are different than how the book portrayed them.

I have not but I have heard it is better that way. When I re-read these (got to wait till our library gets them back in) I will be going through AFFC/ADWD concurrently.
It isn't a big deal either way since a lot of AFFC/ADWD is happening at the same time.
