Re: Game of Thrones Season 4 (aka A Storm of Swords: Part Deux)

Can't say I like the new Daario. He doesn't have the look or the pompous charm of last seasons'. I understand recasting, but it's just weird that GOT would change his look so drastically. They've done an unbelievable job with casting so far so I trust he'll win us over in time.

It's really hard to for me to imagine how non-book readers even keep up with all of the characters and their back stories.

Spoilers are one of my biggest pet peeves. I don't even tell people what movies I intend on seeing for fear they'll say something even minuscule that will ruin the movie.

You are hinting at a development between a specific character and a specific event, which is almost as good as spoiling. Why you would even hint at it when at the same time expressing your disappointment in having it spoiled for you is beyond me.

Don't know why it's so hard for people on this board to keep schtum regarding plot developments lately.
Well first off if you would read it a said blank and blank so I never linked the two to the same event at all. I heard what happened in both and never knew they were linked at all until "you" said they were. I was as bland as they came when I wrote it.

But it's whatever; I don't know why people on this board has been very picky about what they read lately.

No, they're really not. Thanks to you I now know that something happens to a certain character at a certain event. That's what spoiling is.

I don't know why people on this board have to post spoilers so much. Maybe it's lack of common courtesy or maybe it's just lack of common sense and they really don't know what a spoiler is? Maybe they don't even know how to tag something as a spoiler, who knows? Either way it's too risky now and unfortunately I'm going to have to bow out of this and TWD threads. It's too bad because I really did enjoy reading and discussing both of them on here.

Agreed Jeremy. It's not hard to click the spoiler button to avoid certain things.

In other (good) news, this was just renewed for a 5th & 6th season. Maybe GRRM will be close to getting the 6th book out by that point (doubtful)...

You had "blank and blank" both spoiled for you on Facebook but had no idea they were linked until I said it here? How does that work again? Please PM the spoiler(s) to me, I'd really like to know what they were. Anyone could have put it together the same way I did, given what you wrote. In any case, if you feel like I spoiled something for you(which I have a hard time believing), then I really do apologize. But maybe you shouldn't have brought it up like that here, in all it's non-spoiler tagged glory like that in the first place. Next time, if you're unsure, please use spoiler tags.

You don't know why people are being picky with what they read lately? What does that even mean? When has spoiling plot developments ever been the thing to do here? No one wants to come in a show/movie thread and have events spoiled for them. Thank you for editing your post.

Daario's kind of a lame character anyway; I don't think it matters much who plays him.

Still disappointed the show doesn't include Strong Belwas.

I never linked the 2 at all. THAT IS WHAT I SAYING!

It's like I saying that I was spoiled about Rick and Terminus. I never once in that sentence said they were connected at all? That's what I'm not getting and the reason I feel like I didn't do anything wrong. I'm not one to spoil stuff in any series I have watched so everyone should know that if I known that it cause such a uproar I wouldn't of posted it.

Giving any hint of what you were spoiled about is in essence a spoiler. It heightens awareness for the keywords you mention. You HAVE to realize that.

If I say "I can't believe my friend spoiled X character, or X event" you bring an awareness to those two things for someone who reads your post. So now I become guarded so every time I see that character I expect SOMETHING to happen, every time I see something that looks like X event I EXPECT SOMETHING to happen because you told me someone spoiled it for you.

So no, you didnt directly tell intimate details, but you brought an unprovoked awareness to two things on the program. If you are spoiled about something you never post details of what you were spoiled about. Like ZERO details, no names, no nouns, no verbs, nothing.

Im sorry but if you think anyone in GoT is safe then something is wrong. I can say I cant believe that happened to Snow and I be right because something will happen to him just dont know what yet. Wont surprise me one bit if everyone dies in the last book the way the series has been. lol.

Jeesh. Just like the Walking Dead thread, this has become a discussion on spoilers instead of the series. It sucks.

Use spoilers for anything and everything if ever in doubt. Play it safe and don't ruin it for someone else. It ain't rocket science and it's common courtesy.

If I said "I can't believe what happens to the Starks at the Frey/Tuley wedding" would you not consider that a spoiler?

Calling it the "Red Wedding" is vague enough in that 1. You don't know which wedding it even refers to & 2. You have no idea what is happening to who

By going with specific people and specific events you change people's mindsets for when that event takes place in turn ruining the surprise.

I LOVE the monster that Arya has become. And the recasting of Daario definitely threw me off a bit, and I even knew it was coming, but I'm sure I can warm to it.

Couldn't agree more on both counts, although I will say the original Daario they cast seemed a lot cooler. Was it ever revealed why the first guy was recast?

Also can the incessant back and forth about spoilers in every thread just end already? Maybe someone needs to create a 'Discussion on the rules and common courtesy's of spoilers' thread so everyone can go in there and debate. The only thing worse than someone who may or may not spoil something is coming in and reading 15 posts about the etiquette and rules of spoiler tags. By the end of it I am actually happy something got spoiled for someone for having to suffer through the ensuing discussion.
