They're not going to mess with Superman. The only unique version that I could see remotely working is one that is considerably less powerful, jumps long distances instead of flying, and has some vulnerability other than magic and Kryptonite. And then you have to make Clark almost 20 years older than Bruce. Among other things there would be too much conflict with the "Versus" movie.

Re: Gotham
If if was't for comic continuity, which they could ignore, but probably won't, there is no way that Gordon wouldn't forget about Barbara and be all over Leslie. This Leslie>>>>than Barbara in every way, IMO of course.
As an aside, Bats is like 2 or 3 years older than Supes in the comics now.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: Gotham
Warner Brothers obviously wants "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" to be a momentous event. Superman in any of it's properties (WB produces "Gotham") might dilute the buildup. Just my opinion, which doesn't account for a great deal.Comment

Re: Gotham
Yeah, but like I said, earlier you can't have the origin story without including Superman. It makes no sense, when you have to write this series, from this point on. This series appears to be doing its on thing. Yes, that's a good idea, but I doubt you'll keep your target audience. That being potential Justice League fans and the normal everyday viewer. This appears to be a series that is catering to the fans to keep them interested. Like Smallville, its getting better, as we go along.Last edited by bradtxmale; 01-09-2015, 07:27 PM.Comment

Re: Gotham
Fish, her sidekick, and Penguin have been the stars of this show so far imo by a big margin. Have not been a big fan of Gordon's representation in this show so far. A man trapped in a city of turncoats, backstabbers and cops on the take probably wouldn't be so bold and upfront with his attitude about things especially in a city where they would kill a cop and not think twice about it. A cop in a city trying to do right where everyone is doing wrong makes for a great story and would allow for a great character study-that sense of desperation and hopelessness. In fairness, maybe since this is early on in his tenure he still has that idealistic approach to things where every thing is black and white...EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

You want a neutered Gordon to exist among future super-villains and mob bosses who give orders to the police in their own station. Why? Because you don't think it's realistic that anyone would have that kind of courage?Comment

Re: Gotham
Gordon is the moral compass of the show and his back and forth with Bullock is priceless. You want him to be desperate, hopeless, and careful, and the writers want him to be a hero. Sounds like a fun show.

Shows like "The Wire" possesed that "WTF are we going to do" mode that was made entertaining by great writing. Not expecting this show to be Wire quality just using that as an example of what I'm trying to say. Hope I'm clear.
I still watch as it has been getting better but it still has room for improvement imo. Just my opinion man. Re: Gotham
No JayBee74 that is not what I'm saying. Please don't jump to conclusions bro. How the show is set up, maneuvering in a city where criminals come into the precinct and talk a bunch of crap to cops to their face and face no repercusions because the cops fear them is the environment Jim is walking into man. A dude that has no friends (other than Bullock who would rather look the other way as well.lol) in a city where people are untrustworthy and people disappear and no one asks questions. It really makes little sense how he would survive that long in a city like this with his upfront mentality for long. I'm not saying people with courage don't exist, what i'm saying in the world Fox has set up with this show, figuring out how to maneuver within the environment and keep his morale compass should be a major part of the show as well. Desperate or hopeless doesn't mean I want the guy crying in a beer at the end of every episode but means that there should be a more complex process involved in getting things done and at the same time staying alive and not becoming corrupt himself imo. That would entail some better writing than has been displayed and the guy playing Gordon is a much better actor than the script allows him to be imo..

I hear ya' and you make some points, but I want the Gordon they have now. At the end of the day, in this ridiculous Gotham environment you need a law enforcer who's not scared to do just about anything. It's not like he's unaware of his limits in dealing with the mob. At least he pretended to kill THE Penguin.
Gordon is pretty much vanilla and by the book, but he's a great contrast for Bullock, and a good counterbalance to the scared, unethical Gotham police force. Being a little redundant but he's plays so well off of Bullock and the Captain.Comment
