lol, I'm sure Woo probably chucked his pants towards his direction, which Spencer failed to catch it and thus falling into the water.

Did anyone else notice how bushy Jethra's armpits were? Even my wife was shocked...

For such a small little girl, that bush was bushier than most bushes.

He's done it before in the past, but not like this season. I think Colton quitting last season was Jeffs breaking point in bad players cause Jeff was the only person that wanted Colton back last season and then Colton eventually quit, making Jeff basically look bad for wanting him. So now quitters and bad players will be bashed big time.

Though at the same time...isn't Jeff one of the people in casting? Is it really that hard to find good players to cast instead of casting boring/horrible stereotypes? Just have past Survivor contestants be the casting people. They know what a good player is.

Yeah but I'm pretty sure it's hard to judge a real person's character from a video/meeting.

What they need to do is be smart about the casting. Look at what their profession is or what they're currently doing. Someone that is a coach, or former athlete, will most likely mean that they're competitive and be willing to be a hard worker around camp.

Someone that was a former cheerleader (Morgan) would probably not be ideal in a situation where there is no electricity for their hair dryer.

But everyone knows the reason why they casted Morgan.

But then again, maybe this is the producer's intent to hire polar opposites. Good TV can only come when you mixed different personalities.

But it's always the same types of people they cast which is the part which is annoying. And people in specific roles always end up the same! The few times they did have a diverse cast(Cook Islands and Fiji) were real great seasons, those are 2 of my faves seasons of Survivor. I didn't like it just cause it was unique cast and all,but the actual gameplay and stuff was GREAT. Fiji had so many crazy and entertaining moments and same with Cook Island(and Cook Island had people like Parv,Penner,Ozzy,Yul). Winners of both those seasons I'd also say were some of the best winners in Survivor history(Earl played probably the cleanest game by a winner ever).

The only negative though was that Earl was never a fan of Survivor lol. But still...they knew he wasn't a fan of the show, but they knew the type of person he was and all and knew he'd be good for the show.

The thing about girls like that is that Survivor usually cast the ones who aren't good at survival. Even in Jeffs pre-game cast assessment, he even flat out states certain people will suck(and they do). So what shugknight said about it being hard to tell from a video/meeting how a person is...if it was so hard, then how can Jeff easily assess a person before the season starts and for the most part,is right about them? Seems like they knew certain people would suck the moment they were casted......

But I think because of past contestants success, they want more people like that. Amanda is the first person I can think of who was a padget girl who did well on Survivor.

It's not saying all people of certain positions will suck at Survivor, but in a game that's about competing in physical challenges, being outside for up to 39 days with bugs/animals and stuff, is it really wise to be casting people who you know right off the top would suck in these situations? Doesn't mean they need only athletes and people who are used to camping, fishing and stuff, but if there isn't,there should at least be like a test people have to go through to be on Survivor. Like being able to make a fire, doing well at a typical survivor challenge and so on.

Yes Survivor needs to change the way they cast. Stop casting people you know will be out first or can't survive. Cast people that actually have a brain and if they don't know how to survivor, they will actually take some classes or something and learn before going on survivor.

I would love to see a season full of people like Tony, Kass, and the rest of the brains/brawn tribes. There wouldn't be any weak people to kick off first, so gameplay has to start right away. If you have 3-4 Tony trying to get control and talking too much, it would be great. They wouldn't know who to get rid of and alliances would change all the time.

^No Kass! But having multiple guys like Tony in the game would be funny to watch. Female wise, people they've had recently like Cierra,Andrea,Brenda,Kim were all great players. Male wise, people like Cochran,Malcolm,Hayden,Vytas,Caleb,Brad were great players too.

And Jeff says on twitter that many people are telling him that this is one of their fave seasons ever? lol really? Have those people watched Survivor for long or what? It's definitely their 2nd best group of new players since Samoa(Last season was 1st), but for sure this isn't one of the all time great seasons. It's in the better half of the 28 seasons so far,but I'll have to see how it ends before fully judging(if someone like Kass,Tasha,Spencer win...I won't like this season as much)

I included Kass because she doesn't really follow anyone. She votes where she thinks it will benefit her the most. If you multiple people like her, they would most likely switch sides a lot.

                      1) The casting of this show reminds me of The Real World, where everyone falls into a somewhat predictable combination of stereotypes that has "stood the test of time" with the producers.

                      2) The thing that's making this season more interesting to me than many, IS the fact that (with the POSSIBLE exception of Tony), they all pretty much stink at this game in all phases...it would be interesting to see what a guy like Boston Rob (or the guy with the long blonde hair who won that last All Stars competition) would do with this cast of characters...would the fact that they were the only real "players" out there help / hinder / neither?

                      3) I'd LOVE to see a season of people who never saw the show before...I didn't see the first couple seasons, but I'd imagine they were waaaay different due to a lack of "study"...that's how we pick a jury for trials...no prior knowledge, etc.

^You know Boston Rob, but not Tyson(at least I assume you're talking about Tyson, since I don't remember any other guy with long blonde hair who won an "all stars" season, though to be fair, that wasn't an all stars season, but it did happen in December.....)

A season of people who never saw the show before would be hard to cast for. How do you know who has and who hasn't seen the show before. People could just be lying and say they haven't but then they'll end up seeing a show and know stuff.

CBS casting for the most part is basically the same whether it be on Survivor or Big Brother. Same stereotypes so often. Country person, padget girl, model, big tough guy, loudmouth(usually a woman),nerd(usually a guy),real athletic/competitive(usually a guy),lawyer, gay person(almost always is a guy,and majority of the times it's someone of color,ESPECIALLY on big brother) and so on.

Once someone applies for Survivor and makes it past the first round of auditions, I think they'll start researching if they havent already.

You have to cast for an unspecified show, and have an ambush like premier. Its been done on other reality shows where the cast wasn't 100% sure of the game. But I dont know how that would translate on survivor. People might just quit the show a few days in because they weren't mentally prepared for that type of show.

It could be done though. Maybe cast for a tough mudder or cross fit reality show, and bam drop survivor on their asses. That could work. Naturally you'd have to cast the full spectrum of cross fit, from beginner/wimps to beasts. I could see that working. Cross fit/tough mudder folks are competitive and wouldnt turn away from the survivor surprise if they did it like that. And it wouldnt just have to be cross fit. Point is CBS would have to be sneaky about what show they were casting for. But in all honesty I dont think they would bother with that.

Jeff Probst ‏<s>@</s>JeffProbst <small class="time"> </small> <s>#</s>survivornight Gonna be a fun episode! I am so happy you guys are digging it so much! 28 seasons and 2 more to come! Yeah baby!

I always figured if Survivor ended, it'd end at a season like that(meaning 20,25,30 or something), but really hope it doesn't end!

2 are in the works already, shows been renewed to season 30, but nothing else is known after that. For past several years Survivor has been renewed on a year to year basis.
