So you're saying if 2% of the population in your town suddenly disappeared, and you know it happened across the world as well, you wouldn't be at least a bit unnerved by the event?

I saw the second episode. The only mystery that is compelling to me is why the wife went to the cult. Seems like their family was still in tact so sense isnt really being made there yet. Other than that, Im struggling to care. They are gonna need some pretty legit payoffs down the line to counter the constant sadness and despair this show gives off.

2 shows in and I feel like I'm missing a lot still. I do find it compelling, but I'm still not understanding a lot. I'll continue to watch to see where this crazy ride takes me.

I agree with this 100%, The 1918 flu pandemic (January 1918 – December 1920) was an unusually deadly influenza pandemic, the first of the two pandemics involving H1N1 influenza virus.[1] It infected 500 million[2] people across the world, including remote Pacific islands and the Arctic, and killed 50 to 100 million of them—three to five percent of the world's population. And that's not counting the millions that died in WWI at the time. The World lost up to 7% in a short period of time.

The world just kept on going on.

Now granted that's different than people just disappearing, but still you had more of the Worlds population by % in 1918.

I agree they act like its lawlessness and wasteland after a Nuclear holocaust took 75% of the population.

I'll watch the show and see how it develops. But I don't trust anyone associated with Lost to deliver. The writing for lost really became embarrassing and frustrating at the end.

That's not what I said at all. Being a bit unnerved is not what is going on in this show...people AND organizations (like the police dpt.) have completely lost their marbles. Huge difference. It was 2% of the population. Not 50%.

It's just not good writing, IMO.

I think you guys are ridiculous to say people wouldn't go crazy if loved one suddenly vanished from the face of the earth without explanation.

Huh? I think you are overblowing this by saying the entire police department is losing their marbles. I see the chief of police losing it, while everyone else in the police department going about their business. Maybe it seems like they are losing it because the chief is a main character, but To call it poor writing is absurd.

Also this show is about the people who lost those in this event, so of course it's going to appear as if being are being unnerved. If you lost your spouse and children, you'd be ok? If the show was just about being acting normal after 2% of the population, where would the plots be? We are following the stories of those who were most affected by this event.

It's almost not so much that the people are gone as it is how they disappeared. If 2% suddenly vanishes right in front of people's eyes, with no explanation or reason, people would go absolutely ape****.

If you were in that 2% affected you would definitely be losing your ****. I don't see how that's bad writing. I call that being a human being with feelings.

I think this main issue would have been partly resolved if we had time with the 2%.

If we knew them, understood what they were to their families, maybe then others would understand?

Thank goodness they took a step back from the characters from the first two episodes. I guess each episode will focus on different people and somehow connect them all back. Like Crash.

Anyway, this was the best episode. I wasnt crazy about the dream sequence though.
