No they don't.

Pretty solid trailer. Definitely interested to see more Batman so soon after BvS, but what's the timeline of this? Obviously it comes out after BvS, but when does it take place? Because Batman is old in this universe. Also, Harley not having an accent is a bummer.

Just seems like a scene they should save for an actual Batman movie. If this movie is about the Suicide Squad, I dont really need Joker to take over the entire film with scenes that have nothing to do with the Suicide Squad. A Harley Joker torture scene sets the stage, the motivations, the mindset of those two characters for this film. An additional Joker Robin torture scene comes off as beating a dead horse for the Joker and carelessly throws the Batman's (and Robin's) story in there. I dont need to see that in a movie about the Suicide Squad. Think about it, how much focus would be sapped away from the Suicide Squad if you have that heavy scene in the movie? It would literally become all about Harley Joker and Batman. Nope, save it for Batman's movie.

I want to focus on the Suicide Squad, not Batman and his issues. But I get it, we need to shoehorn Batman and his vengeance into everything these days. Hell Metropolis and Gotham magically became neighboring cities in this universe to get batman's vengeance involved there lmao. "San Francisco and Oakland" according to Snyder.

Then they shouldn't have shown A)Batman chasing the Joker in the Suicide Squad trailer or B)Jason Todd's suit with the Joker's writing in the BvS trailer.

It will most likely be addressed in both movies.

How does Batman chasing the Joker have anything to do with Jason Todd? Has Batman never had any other issues with Joker, that the only reason he'd fight him is because he killed Robin? I'm seriously not understanding how Batman fighting his most iconic villain in any way reflects a Robin scene

Strictly because of the suit in Batman vs Superman, and the way they make it seem like it just happened. And the fact that The Joker isn't a member of the Suicide Squad. They wouldn't put the Joker in this movie just to turn Harleen Quinzell into Harley Quinn.

I guess because they didn't make anything seem like it just happened in the BvS trailer. He just looked at the suit, it could've happened 10 years ago, and that could've led to his retirement. He's been Batman for 20 years. There's no reason to believe that it just happened.

Might as well. I'm not arguing with you. All I'm saying is that is the only reason for Batman to be in this movie, the death of Jason Todd.

If Joker is torturing Harley in this movie then I'd have a problem with that as it just goes to confirm my fears that they really don't get those two characters. The relationship between the two while abusive definitely, has never really been to THAT level. Joker wouldn't out and out torture her. Sure he'd slap Harley around and he's done that plenty, but strapping her to a table or a chair and maliciously torturing her? That's not them. He'd definitely do that to Jason Todd, but the dynamic with Joker and Harley is that he'd always treat her like **** in order to keep a sense of fear instilled in her, but he'd always eventually turn on the charm to sucker her right back into trusting him/loving him again.

The beauty of Harley's character and what made her so popular in the first place was her naivety and how she did have that battered wife syndrome for Joker and that she'd found that one little shining glimmer of hope in him and clung to it to the point of throwing her career away.

Judging by the clip in the trailer it seems like before she goes bad, Joker tortures her? That's bull**** if they make that switch. Joker doesn't torture her into being with him. The premise of the character revolves around her falling in love with Joker as he plays her with his bull**** stories through their psych sessions in Arkham. Maybe the New 52 changed how Harley's origin is or something, I don't know, but it'll suck in my eyes if that's how they plan on putting those two together.

We don't really have a clear picture of what is going on in that scene, so I can't really say much, but Joker has tried to kill Herley on several occasions...and that's just the stuff I've read. I don't know if anything is outside the realm of their relationship any more.

Meh, I know it sounds crazy to us sane folks, but there is a difference between sadistically physically torturing someone like what we're seeing in that clip and Joker potentially killing Harley when he's lashing out at her. I think the majority of the "attempts" to kill her have been in the heat of the moment type of things and not some predetermined or drawn out planned thing. I'll reserve full judgement until I see the movie, I just think from what we're seeing, if they have him torture her as Harleen Quinzel to drive her crazy and join him instead of showcasing the way he can change his personality to fit whatever situation he wants to exploit her into throwing her own life/career away then that takes away from the dynamic of the two for me.

I'm still iffy on the way the Joker looks, not even the forehead tattoo. I'm just not a fan of Hipster Joker.

That would be amazing and completely redeem the design of this Joker, but I highly doubt it happens because it's too good to be true.
