Exactly. I was more excited for this than BvS, and loved every minute of that one.

Yeah I am going to wait and read some impressions on OS before I go see it.
I was really looking forward to it until I started reading reviews on it this morning.
it is getting absolutely killed, I read 5 or 6 reviews and they all said it was horrible.

This is the best review I read.

Interesting. I am definitely disappointed to hear this

Should be seeing it Saturday, disappointed it's not the ensemble Deadpool-light it seems to be going for but hopefully it's not a objectively bad movie on top of that.

I got advance screening passes for tomorrow night. The only problem is that going there will be in rush hour traffic, which will make the trip well more than an hour long going there. I'll probably be able to stomach it fine, but it would have felt better if the reviews were a little more positive.

No matter, I'm still very interested in seeing it.

I had zero faith that critics or reviews would enjoy this one. My excitement is still there. Can't wait for this weekend.

It sounds like it could be a fun watch. Some movies just don't get reviewed well. I'm stoked to check it out as well

Imo most reviewers have an agenda and are idiots. I will never listen to a reviewer. I'd rather get opinions from you guys then the "professional" critic.

My problem wirh movie critics is how do you judge what entertains other people and what do you use as a comparison for one movie or what do you use as the gold standard to measure against. Is this supposed to be compared to Guardians, and was Guardians supposed to be compared to Avengers, and what Avengers compared to at the time?

There are definitely cases where I scratch my head. Not every movie is trying to be Million Dollar Baby, or The Butler. Lot of critics bashed Jurassic World and I thought it was fun as hell.

My main gripe right now, not just about Squad, but comic movies in general, is I'm tired of origin stories (if I ever see a young Bruce Wayne fall into a cave, or see his parents murdered again on the big screen I'm gonna rage) and sometimes I wish we could just give a quick rundown to set it up and then boom get to the good stuff but with a movie like this there is obviously some deeper setup required. While I see some reviews complain of "too many flashbacks" in the film I'm curious to see how it all actually pans out for the rest of us.

33% on rotten tomatoes lol. Can't even blame this on zack Snyder. WB and DC are paying the price for what I perceive as a cash grab attempt at cashing in on what Marvel does so well.

Really the main thing I am trying to get from this film is A.) Does Leto's joker work and B.) if so how soon can we get him and Batman (Snyder/Affleck style) in a standalone film

I just want a movie I enjoy and will want to watch again. Man of Steel and BvS were both 1/2 for those marks, but then again most of the Marvel movies are, too.

I understand the Marvel films typically are critically received well and its obvious the whole universe is a well-oiled machine, but most of them are too polished with little substance or depth to me.

Still, its disheartening that DC and WB are basically mudding through wilderness whereas Marvel looks like its cruising downtown. I hope Wonder Woman and JLA can officially right the ship.

I think WW is going to be the "turning point" where DC starts catching up critically and financially.

Although someone told me Suicide Squad is set to do huge numbers out the gates? Not sure if true or not

Bad movies are front loaded, fans will go see it anyways, good word of mouth extends the success to subsequent weekends. See: BvS. Made like half of it's domestic total the first weekend.

Already reports of starkly different cuts and stuff and some rough times behind the scenes in part due to BvS - http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hea...-rushed-916693
