Saw it, Hated that version of The Joker. Never want to see that version again.

Agreed. It just didn't work for me. He sounded more like Jim Carrey in The Mask than the Joker to me. Whatever he was going for, it missed me.

Obviously Ledger's version, as well as Hamill's, probably played a role in me not liking it. Just didn't hold up to my expectations for the character.

Honest question, for the sake of discussion: Is it fair to compare one Joker to another?

I am not sure it's fair to compare Leto Joker to Heath Joker, or any other really. I think every Joker we've gotten has been pretty unique in their own right. Given the nature of this move, the nature of the other characters in the movie, and the direction this DCEU is going I think it's understandable why they tried something new.

Was there anything you guys liked about Leto Joker, the look, the voice, the mannerisms, anything or did it just fall completely flat for you.

I'm not super high on Gangster Joker but it wasn't that bad to me. The tattoos are a little corny, IMO

Thought the movie was good over all better then batman vs superman but far from great. Dead shoot and Harley Quin where by far the best part of the movie. Quin was just like the Quin from the 90's cartoon and the arkham games. Dead shoot was just great but I also love Will Smith. I didn't care for Joker much and was disappointed in him. He was in the movie a lot early but not much after that and I thought his acting wasn't that great looked much better in the trailers.

Our theater was 99 percent full and people were laughing and cheering throughout. My wife and I really enjoyed it too. It was a lot of fun.

As far as the villians

I expected Enchantress to stay a part of the squad so her turning out to be a villian was a cool little twist for me. I dont mind them using her and Incubus. DC has such great villians and im glad that they didn't use up one of the better ones like Poison Ivy this early.

Using Enchantress allowed them to do the same thing that the first Avengers did by using Loki and his minions. They were shooting faceless monsters instead of humans and that allowed them to have a lot of gunplay and shooting without making the movie rated R.

However, i think the main villian was Amanda Waller and Viola Davis was terrific in this. Does anyone know if she signed a multi picture deal? I hope that she did because Waller can be a really cool villian moving forward in the DCU.

Totally agree!
I went in thinking I would love him as the Joker and I was totally disappointed in him!
I also thought Will Smith was just horrible in this film.
Luckily for me I won free passes to see this movie.

Not saying if it's fair or not. But honestly, does it really matter? I couldn't help but compare the two (or three with the voice of Hamill) because that's what I think of when I think about that character.

For me, none of it worked. Mainly it was the voice and the delivery like I said earlier. The look didn't help either with the teeth and the outfits.

Just wasn't for me. It really seemed like he was just trying too hard to create his own "unique" version, and it just fell flat.

You can't really compare Leto's Joker to Ledger's because their platforms weren't the same.


That said, it's fair to be a bit disappointed in Leto's performance given all the method acting hype we got leading up to the film. We didn't set those expectations, they were given to us.

It already kinda did that between Friday and Saturday, early projections had it at $140m based on Thurs/Fri I believe.

Broke the August record for movie openings previously held by Guardians of the Galaxy ($94.3m), and the 3rd comic movie this year to break such a record.

With mixed rather than universally poor word of mouth that BvS had, I'll be surprised if it has the same ~69% dropoff.

Friend pointed out during the bar scene Captain Boomerang goes storming off as soon as Flagg said everyone was free to go. Then suddenly he's in the next scene w/ the drone, lol.

You see him join back in with the group when they're walking. I thought it would've been hilarious to have him just leave and never come back but they killed that after like 2 minutes lol

I wouldn't have minded if they did that (you'd have to see my long-winded "issue #2" regarding that though).

What made it funny was when he came back, he was finishing up another soda can... so if anybody asks, he could always make the excuse that he was never leaving at all and was just thirsty for something carbonated, heh.
