After watching it Friday and letting it marinate over the weekend, I was disappointed. It had it's moments but too many errors.
LOVED Deadshot and Harley Quinn but the rest of the movie fell flat for me. Leto's Joker was ok but like someone else said it seemed like they tried too hard with the teeth and his speech delivery.
The biggest problem for me was how rushed the whole movie seemed. We're introduced to these characters then a short time later they're unified fighting this villain.
I just think they're rushing the DC universe. Where the Marvel movies succeeded by introducing most Avengers via their own individual movie, DC is cramming all these story lines and characters in a movie w/out showing us the motivation behind WHY these characters are doing what they do. I'm a much bigger fan of DC superheroes but I must admit Marvel laid the foundation better. Just seems like DC is rushing to capitalize on the same success and in the process is stepping on its own toes.Huge Fan of the New Orleans Saints & New Orleans Pelicans!!!!!!!!!!!!!Comment

You also have to read the context people are putting around it. The Marvel movies have been universally loved by fans and critics alike and while not perfect, are loved without these big qualifiers. With the DC movies the people who love them often start by saying "I went in with low expectations", "it's just a comic book movie", "it's not supposed to be analyzed, super complex, or deep" (with BvS it was the opposite, it was supposedly super deep and layered and if you didn't like it you didn't understand it).
I think the DCEU is being viewed through a different lens or graded on a different scale with the fans, whereas the critics have to use the scale when grading these things (and Marvel set the bar high). This might help explain the disparity between fans and critics.Comment

The whole Marvel thing can really influence your entire thinking on this. Like the people who constantly say "DC should have done it like Marvel". Maybe, maybe not but do you really want to sit through the same exact sequence Marvel just did but with different characters.

Everyone on this site knows how I feel about comic book movies. I should just copy and paste my impressions. To quote an OS member from Twitter, "I wish I could find a woman that loved me half as much as you love superhero movies".
I loved it. Might go see it again today. Saw absolutely no issues that anyone here saw.

Exactly. Can't really have solo movies with these characters without having the huge looming superhero over them.
Now, could/should they have done the superhero movies first and had these all be captured in those movies so we didn't spend the first 15-20 getting histories and cameos and such? Absolutely.
But they didn't so I'm not going to focus on that, ha. I'll focus on the DCU that they're giving to us. I'll be hyped when the first Batman/Aquaman/Flash/Supes2 trailers come on just as I usually am.Comment

Do you honestly love ALL comic book movies, like did you love Fantastic Four? Just curious because I don't think I ever went in that thread.
I think going into anything in life with a bias of either "I HAVE to love this" or "I HAVE to hate this" is potentially a limiting frame of mind.
