Re: Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One (2016)

Totally unrelated, but since it's still Star Wars:

I'm about to finish watching The Clone Wars animated series and the whole deal with the clones and Order 66 really makes them a tragic figure. Revenge of the Sith's Order 66 scene was powerful, but knowing what goes behind that thru The Clone Wars makes that moment even more powerful and heart-wrenching.

Anyway, I'm totally pumped to watch Rogue One. Just waiting for my local theatres to start selling advanced tickets.

I highly recommend reading the James Luceno novel "Catalyst". It provides a lot of good background information on the Erso family and their relationship with Krennic (and Krennic's role in the construction of the Death Star).

I had a free audible book so I picked that one up. So far pretty interesting but only in chapter 3.

I've mentioned this here before, but I have to reiterate it again.
I can't put my thumb on it, but for whatever reason, I'm way, way more excited for this film than Episode 7 or even Episode 8.

Can't wait to take the kids to see this.

I think it's because they're expanding the universe and allowing for a whole new aspect of Star Wars that were previously only under the auspices of fiction/comic continuity to be put out there on film.

I think this movie will do mega business at the theatres.

I think you're right. With the new movies, it's like we all sort of know the direction it's heading in.
                        It's still Luke, and company.

With this stand-alone, we see a whole new set of characters. Who knows where it's going to lead.

I kind of hope that Disney has a completely different story arc that they'll eventually follow.

I think it's because people have been waiting for Episode 7 as a redeemer for the franchise since 3 came out, but people have been wanting to see the story that Rogue One tells for decades. It's really Star Wars nerd heaven, answering questions in canon that people have had for years.

Thursday nite 11PM, no IMAX but 3D for me. The movie will end a little after 1 AM then onto work for an eleven hour shift from 3 AM til 2 PM, with Waffle House and a boat load of coffee in between Rogue and work. Which is unusual for me as I dont normally drink coffee. I've always said its for adults only lol
