    Re: Westworld (HBO)

It was confirmed by the Nolans (husband and wife, that is) that the end credit scene was sometime in the future.

So in case anyone is wondering if William is currently a robot. He is not. Though he could still be.

This is amazing for anyone having trouble tracking events. (Hint: all of us).

Not liking the story being told is not synonymous with it being bad. A lot of people have a hard time grasping this concept. I will say that naming the show Westworld and having the Western theme be so prominent was kind of a cruel trick in that it masked for quite a while the actual themes of what the show is really about, so many people feel let down. It is what it is.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I'm hoping season 2 is a lot like other season 2s in television history. A big set up for major events to follow.

I don't really feel we learned a lot this season. Everything we thought would happen as a result of season 1 isn't going to happen until season 3, maybe.

Season 2 was a long journey. Characters moving forward in the same place to essentially realize the same thing: their survival in the outside world.

But there wasn't one major breakthrough other than learning that Delos was saving records of every visitor. That's not what an entire season should be about.

They sold us on this flood and the question of what happened, and then we learn nothing really happened. Everyone was uploaded to a fantasy world and Bernard purposely made himself forget it. It just didn't hit hard.

The show still has fantastic acting, set design, writing, all that jazz. But season 2 wasn't great and expectations were high after a great season 1.

I agree, but in this case, that's exactly what it is, a bad story. When the census is the story for season 2 wasn't as sharp as season 1 and that it was much more convoluted than it needed to be, then it's not the viewer(s) but the script and writing of the show at fault.

This season in all honesty, tried too hard to one up the previous season and along the way they forgot that the reason the first season was so amazing was because it was mysterious and engaging. Yes the first season had twist and turns but it was captivating, this season just seemed to throw stuff out to have the audience grasping without without any real payoff.

I trust the writers and creators of the show because I know what they've done with season 1 and what they were trying to do with season 2 (even though it failed in my book) they were still going for something grand. Hopefully with season 3, they formulate a coherent story that's enjoyable before deciding to throw in twists and turns for giggles.

That's not a **** post at all. Everything in the gif can be true, but people can still figure it out and love what happened anyway or have the opposite reaction and hate it.

All the reactors who I watch loved this season and thought that the writing and storytelling were brilliant, but it's not surprising because people usually watch reactors who approach shows from the same perspective as they do. I'm sure that a whole host of other reactors who I don't watch were pissed off. To say that there is a consensus about the season is simply not true.

I would add that listening to recaps of the season and discussions about the future of the show from the creators/showrunners of Westworld, Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, my strong feeling is that is you didn't like this season it's only going to get worse for those folks.

Is there a little bit of Mr. Robot in WW? That was a frustrating show for me because by the end of season one it had me fascinated but as season two progressed it wore me out.

For the record, I only watched five episodes of season one of Westworld.

I'm sure I'll like the direction of the show. I think season 2 was in stand still instead of pushing in that direction. That's my issue with it.

I think that after five seasons we may look back at season 2 as necessary and important to the overall plot even if it didn't exactly move it.
