    Re: Wonder Woman (2017)

Finally saw this while on vacation. I tried to keep my Marvel preference in check and remembered the best thing I liked about BvS was WW. Gadot certainly galvanized herself as WW. I agree her acting isnt A list but then again doesnt have to be. Overall I'd say the movie was a B. We needed more screen time from Pine's secretary... she was a hoot.

I have to say the very first battle scene re: the Amazon army was my favorite.

As far as things that made me scratch my head or that I just didnt like:

Criticisms acknowledged, it was still a B+ at worse for me.

Wonder Woman and Superman were both "born" to give hope against Hitler during WW2. I love that they incorporated that into the story. I couldn't agree more with your issue with Ares, but I even given them a small pass for that because when he armored up it was pretty bad ***.

I'll add one thing you didn't mention (that goes against my earlier praise about the 1940's story line)... Diana appeared to grow at the rate of any normal human until she got to about 25 years old or so? Then she remained that age for 70+ years?

I agree with those two last points (especially the final point) you mentioned. It was silly and off putting for me.

I'm down. I just watched this again today with my kids this time and it was great again. They loved it. Especially my daughter who gets overloaded with boy stuff having 3 brothers. She's pretty tough so she was all about a badass female superhero.

                    Re: Wonder Woman (2017)

finally saw the movie with the wifey, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. When the trailers came out, I couldn't muster any exicitment for the movie. D.C has burnt me down with a slog of recent movies. However even in the trailer, the film looked like it had color. Not sure how many people have noticed but Man of Steel and Batman Vs Superman were very dark movies, the coloring was very bleak and depressing.

The trailer depicted lush colors which was a plus. Long story short, I really liked it. I beats out Spiderman Home coming and Guardians for me. It was very refreshing. We've had so many super hero movies within the last 5 years that are all to similar, this felt like a breathe of fresh air. The last act sort of fell apart for me as it went into the routine Hero vs back guy clash of fists, but beyond that, I really enjoyed the movie.

I'm looking forward to the sequel. Hopefully this movie means DC has found their stride and Justice League is kick ***.

That's why I liked them, even though BvS had some pacing issues.

She's a notch below Superman (according to comic artist John Byrne, she's 99% of Supes).
