I personally like reviews probably because I grew up with Siskel and Ebert but don't go by Rotten Tomatoes. I usually go to YouTube and check out Chris Stuckman, Jeremy Jahns and the Collider crew for reviews.

Yeah, me too. I even liked it when Roeper joined Ebert a short time after Siskel's death.

Rotten Tomatoes isn't the end all be all determinator of whether you should see a movie, but it's a factor.

Please give a thumbs up or down LB after you see it.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

Going to bed, still reeling from the hype. It's definitely a film that DC can hang their hats on going forward. I loved it. It captured the humor from the 70's TV show coupled with the seriousness that DC likes to have in their films. I'd definitely pay to see it again. There are some gaps but what film doesn't have those. This is really a great film dressed up with comic book characters.

Ask me tomorrow and I might say ok here is where I think it lulled a bit, but man I just felt that there was so much that was really good about it.

D.C. didn't learn anything from BVS. The story fell flat and the jokes fell even more so. The movie felt like Gadot was doing her best captain America impression, but in BVS style and pacing.

Two stark (pun intended), contrasting reviews.

I may go see it this weekend if the wife doesn't have anything she'd rather watch over this.

                          Wonder Woman (2017)

After one viewing think it's the best superhero movie since The Dark Knight. We'll see if it holds up but I think it's better than anything Marvel has done yet.

It was the perfect mix of serious and absolutely hysterical in some scenes. Entire theater was cracking up at certain parts and on the edge of their seat at others.

                              Re: Wonder Woman (2017)

Just saw it and thought it was wonderful, not perfect. The first act was awesome, the second act was really good though it had a bit of a lull, while the third felt like it went by a bit too quickly. The structure reminds me a lot of Man of Steel, but with less destruction porn in the third act.

Gal was really great in conveying Diana's naivety and innocence, resulting in some pretty good comedy. When it was time for her to fully make her debut, it felt inspired -- the moment was earned, and you could feel WHY her character wants to do this. No Man's Land is now the standard for the superhero entrance. Her fight scenes are pretty awesome and you can see her slowly realising exactly what she's capable of each time she gets into battle.

I just wish the epilogue showed us why she's been laying low until BvS, because the way the movie ends, it doesn't convey Diana heading in that direction.

I won't get into it, but the supporting cast is pretty good, namely the major Amazons and Steve. Claire Underwood... I mean, Antiope, is one bad mutha.

I really like Man of Steel and the ultimate cut of BvS, and I'd rate Wonder Woman on the same level as those two. There definitely aren't any issues with regard to coherence & editing as compared to BvS (theatrical cut), and the length of the movie is just about perfect. As the first movie in the DCEU headed in that more optimistic direction, it soars, while still keeping that certain gravitas I've come to associate with the DCEU.

PS. the bad guy is still better than most of what Marvel has ever offered.

So...what exactly do you look for in a comic book movie? I'm pretty sure you've been nothing but negative about any that come out, and so far you're the only one here that didn't like this one.
