Re: 2017-2018 TV Season
9-1-1 had some great moments but it was also bogged down by the cougar relationship and the inexplicable story line of Peter Krause's character. That being said I like it enough to give it another go. The first season finale is this Wednesday.Comment

Re: 2017-2018 TV Season
Anybody here watch Roseanne?
I thought it was....Interesting. It was anachronistic in presentation what with actually doing an updated version of the old opening credits and a voiceover saying it was taped before a live studio audience. The laugh track was a bit much at times too. That being said, it was fairly good even if the timing wasn't fully there. Laurie Metcalf was outstanding as well as Sarah Gilbert. Roseanne and John Goodman were a little iffy in spots but it's hard sometimes to just jump back into roles you haven't done in 20 years.
The content of the show was a lot more political and touching on social issues than I thought it would. The old series definitely touched on middle class issues but I felt last night had a bit of a Norman Lear production style in terms of putting issues on the table and letting it play out.
All in all, this could've been worse but it was actually at least solid.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: 2017-2018 TV Season
I watched it.
It wasn't horrible but it was way too "2018" for me. The original show was not nearly as overt.
I'll try again next week and see if it mellows.Comment

I saw the pilot for Counterpart when I had a free weekend of Starz. Incredibly unfortunately, there's no way that Married with Children would be allowed to exist in current times.Comment
