That is cool, but in this day an age, they couldn't come up with a less pixelated banner?
As far as reading the comics to prep for the movies, I think this is the genius of Marvel in the production of many of these movies. You can really go either way. As far as the major icons:
Iron Man: a good modern day depiction of the origin considering the country in which he initially fell down.
Cap: I thought needed a 2nd movie before Avengers; I think to a comic book reader, Bucky "died" too quickly. But the spirit of the character remained. Origin was true to form.
Thor: I recall coming away from the 1st thinking, man, they really peeled Asgard off the comic pages and stuck it on a big screen perfectly. If you think of it, Marvel took a pretty big jump in the 60's mixing mythological characters with Earthly ones.
Hulk: far cry from the origin story, but I guess Marvel didn't want to get caught up in anything potentially controversial like fictional gamma bomb testing, but Marvel generally keeping origins as "scientific".
Spider-Man (original): spot on for origin (unfortunately Green Goblin was wearing a Walmart Halloween suit)
Fantastic Four: let's not talk about it
X-Men: If we could just ignore X-Men 3, both times, but in terms of origin, especially Wolverine, I think this was treated well.
