No, I know Sony still controls Spider-Man, I know the deal they have in place. I'm just saying that everything about the Venom movie that we know seems to be operating to the contrary of what Feige has said. He explicitly said at the Homecoming premiere that Spider-Man would not be appearing in Venom and “No, I think the folks there are making a great ‘Venom’ movie and I don’t know much about it, but I know they’re off to a good start with Tom Hardy.” Yet here we are with Holland being on set at the Venom movie looking like he's set to make some kind of appearance in the film. Besides all that, it doesn't really make sense at all that Tom Holland would be playing two different versions of Spider-Man and that Marvel would enter into a deal with Sony knowing they'd do things that way. Tom Holland is Spider-Man now, if he shows up in a Sony movie, people are automatically going to assume the film he's appearing in is connected to the MCU. If Venom isn't apart of the MCU and only Spider-Man is, then Holland is going to have to perform a completely different portrayal of the character than that character he plays in the MCU and is Sony/Marvel REALLY gonna do that with the same guy? Two Quicksilvers between Marvel and Fox works because they were indeed two different portrayals by two completely different actors. Long story short, Kevin Feige shooting things down should be taken with a grain of salt.

Re: Avengers: Infinity War
I dunno, it's no more confusing to me than having the Marvel logo pop up at the beginning of a X-Men movie and knowing they aren't in the MCU. Sony is still just lending "their" character to Marvel for the MCU. I don't see why they wouldn't then use him in non-MCU movies just for the bump, even knowing it's not what it seems to be. I don't think the guys making those decisions at Sony care about continuity or fan confusion or whatever, it's better for them to have Spider-Man in their movie even if they can't get Venom in the MCU. This confusion is good for their bottom line I would think.
Basically I just believe when they say Spider-Man will be in Venom but Venom won't be in the MCU. It's just the kind of business dealing they've walked into.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: Avengers: Infinity War
My guess Infinity stones will cause the mutation gene to activate and that could be the origins of Mutants. Definitely way off from the comics but could make sense for the MCU. I really love how the alien technology was the origins for the villains in Spiderman Homecoming and I could see the same thing happening for the X-Men.
Same for the Fantastic 4, they can learn intergalactic space travel from the Guardians and they can spin off maybe from the 3rd Guardians movie.Comment

Re: Avengers: Infinity War
Previously unconfirmed? Casting on that poster:
Spoiler
My favorite theory:
SpoilerSo they state his goal is to wipe out half the universe and that half of humanity will still be left. He says of the half that will remain "I hope they will remember you".
What if the MCU we all know and love is actually after half has been wiped out and no one does remember the half that are missing? By the end of the second movie they will have restored / recovered from an initial loss to Thanos and the universe will be restored...
Closing shots show:
The underwater city of Atlantis.
The Baxter Building in Manhattan with a giant 4 on the top.
Flyover of a large brick mansion, the point of view rotates to look at a plaque on next to the big iron gate that reads "Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters"
Phase 4 begins with a fresh soft reboot.Last edited by mestevo; 03-16-2018, 11:26 AM.Comment

Re: Avengers: Infinity War
I’ve been saying this since the night I saw Spider-Man: Homecoming. There’s a reason they made such a big deal about Stark selling that building and moving out of it so quickly.
