We also don't know exactly when Dan was told to stop and when the videos were from before or after that because a lot of times, videos are not in a sequential timeline.
The issue with taking a hardline approach is that it can get a person kicked out for an innocent touch. When you are sleeping next to each other for body heat, it makes it very easy for someone to claim something happened to help them in the game. It already happened without the rule. In order to keep that from happening, they will have to provide blankets and separate sleeping options. Then you start losing the survivor part of the game that has already gotten to soft to begin with.

Re: Survivor: Island of the Idols
Can you explain the hardline approach that Survivor is using? Because nothing about what they have said makes me think that it’s going to lead to what you are saying.
And running your hand through a woman’s hair that has repeatedly asked you not to touch her is beyond creepy.
I think more dudes would understand the issue if it was a dude running his hand up and down your leg and tussling your hair, or waking up to him snuggling up to you. If you told the guy to stop, but he just kept doing it because it was innocent, I think more guys would have less issues with calling it out.
She didn’t like him. She doesn’t like being touched. She has exactly zero issues with anyone else. But he went back to touching her when tribes merged. This is so uncomplicated.
Exactly zero other guys were complained about, but multiple women complained about him to various degrees. They have video of what he did and the real-time reactions of women when he did it.
The issue isn’t that Survivor is bad about recognizing this behavior, because they absolutely made clear they knew something was going on when they asked Kellee if they should step in. The only difference now is that they will step in if there is an issue.
We’ll see how the next season goes. I’ll bet you that they don’t have to take the measures you are talking about, and there won’t be any issues. It is already filmed, and took place after Dan was removed.Comment

The next season won't have any issues as they are all winners and I doubt they would try to pull something like that to win. Hopefully no one crosses the line or tries to say someone did, but I expect someone to do it if they have no other options and generally don't care.

Re: Survivor: Island of the Idols
You are assuming a lot and doing the overreacting that you are complaining about. They have cameras rolling on players 24/7. I highly doubt they are going to just start booting players from the game the first time anyone touches another player. Do you really think CBS wants every season to be marred by them kicking a player from the game?Comment

Big Brother is basically an annual tradition at this point. The annual controversy. Someone said something to offend someone, or their actions might've been offensive or harassing. Nothing ever happens to those players and those are ones with live feeds and viewers seeing what happens.
Survivor only shows what impacts the show. Fans only know what goes on in a 40 minute weekly episode recapping 72 hours.Comment

Somebody touches another person innocently or accidentally. It is on camera and clearly shows it happened. The person that was touched then claims they feel harrassed or that abuse occurred.
CBS got called out for not stepping in and protecting Kellee. They left it up to her and the other players. If that situation happens, they will have no choice to but to step in and remove the player. When things are in the gray zone and you are relying on feelings, it's easy to overreact and hard to prove either way. CBS would be killed if they had a person claiming something happened and they said they didn't believe them and left the other person in the game.
*This isn't a situation were it happened previously and they were told to stop.

Re: Survivor: Island of the Idols
If this happened the side that lost the player would just do it right back to a player in the other alliance. Eventually half the cast has been kicked out.Comment
