Re: OS Official Horror Movie Thread
I can only watch a horror movie if it's like, broad daylight 12 noon, all the lights in the house are on and at least like 10 other people watching with me.
which means since nobody else wants to watch like that, I rarely watch horror movies. I was 12 or 13 when Gremlins came out and even that was too scary for me. Evil Dead 2 is about as much as I can take of anything resembling a horror movie.
and the last something I saw that I enjoyed that was anywhere near horror was the Geico commercial where they want to hide in the shed behind the chainsaws instead of getting in the running car.
also, Simpsons Tree House of Horror is stellarOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: OS Official Horror Movie Thread
I really wanted to love the 2nd Fear Street movie but it came off as too much Friday The 13th mixed in with some Evil Dead. Don't get me wrong, the kills were brutal for a property that's supposed to be based off a children's book but the acting was less to be desired.Comment

OS Official Horror Movie Thread
Watched Fear Street Part 1 last night. Enjoyed it for what it is. Total Scream ripoff type of film mixed in with Blair Witch lore.
So....going to see The Forever Purge tonight in the theater. First time in a theater since pre-pandemic. Looking forward to it. When I get home I am going to watch Fear Street Part 2 1978. Which will probably hit all the right retro notes for this old fart who grew up in that era.Last edited by Armor and Sword; 07-25-2021, 09:39 AM.Now Playing on PS5:

Re: OS Official Horror Movie Thread
Anyone here like the movie Sinister?
I popped it in again the other night, and most of it reminds me of why I love it so much... but then there are those nagging things that keep me from loving it fully. If you've seen it, then you know what I mean. Overreliance on jump scares when the film didn't need an overabundance of them, and a major transformation to one realm of horror when it could've been pretty limited.
These reminders that I had occurred literally as I was watching it, and so I took mental note in saying: "Gee, if only 'this' was removed and 'this' was altered, this would be a much more effective horror film." All that said, I started a project in editing this film that has cut about 10 minutes out of it. I'm almost done with it, though I've hit one creative snag which I'm trying to detangle.
Nevertheless, everyone's complaints with the film stem from the issues I'm talking about, and I firmly believe that this edit restores most all positivity that comes from it. If you want to ever give it a shot, I'll send it to you when I finish it. I'll also post about it here when I'm done and spoiler-tag the changes that I made if you're curious. It'll be stereo audio, though. Next time I'll actually go 5.1 lossless, but when making these edits to begin with I didn't realize that I would truly actually want this as a replacement Blu-ray.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: OS Official Horror Movie Thread
Sinister was damn good.
I have been watching some foreign horror of late.
Just caught A Classic Horror Story on Netflix (Italian with sub titles) and it was a damn good.
Also watched a very interesting one that was quite good from Finland (Finnish) on Shudder called Lake Bodom.
Also on Shudder a crazy slasher/psycho killer flick (American) which I watched 2 times already....Haunt. It was nuts. I was shocked this was never in the theater. It was that good. Now Playing on PS5:
