V/H/S/94 is a return to what made the original two movies good/great. Definitely suggest watching in the dark and with minimal distractions.

I wanted to look at it very late last night (to get that eerie, late night vibe), but it didn't pop up (on the Shudder app) until sometime this morning.

I'll give my thoughts on the individual segments and wraparound story possibly at a later date.

I believe it's streaming exclusively on Shudder, but might be available for rent on other platforms.

Definitely worth a rental or the free trial of Shudder.

I don't currently see it on Amazon or YouTube to rent, so looking like a Shudder exclusive likely past Halloween.

VHS94 isnt going to theaters, pretty sure the first 3 never went to theaters as well.

Today is the last day to watch Malignant on HBO Max so I gave it a second watch last night.

I liked it a lot more the second time around. Still did to care for the very very end (talking the last 3-4 minutes and the way the ended the movie).

Anyway I really like this one now that I knew what it was really about. I had pre determined expectations being it was James Wan and had no idea what it was about going in and was a little thrown off.

It is a really cool film that harkens back to the David Cronenberg late 70’s early 80’s type of horror. Just a crazy story.

We watched the Wtephen King Marathon yesterday LOL. Dead Zone, The Shining, Carrie, Creepshow, Christine.

Just a lot of horror movie goodness in October.

Did you get those on Amazon? I looked in Walmart and Target, but looks like they aren't getting them.

I want to buy them but I think they are like $30 each. I might get one here and there.

Let me know how they look if you get around to it. I have them all on Blu-ray and they looks great. I have the original in 4K and it looks good, but honestly, not much a difference from the blu-ray. I think there is only so much they can do.

Agree. I have the Blue Ray collection from Scream Factory (in the sweet box with the Producers Cut Halloween VI).

They want 36.99 for each 4K Ultra HD.

There is only so much you can do I agree.

I don’t want to buy films for the 4th time (VHS, DVD, BD). It really feels…..scam like. Much like the huge CD remaster phase (yes there are some that are true remasters from the now defunct Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs Gold Disc remasters etc). And also legit 4K Ultra HD films (newer films inn particular).

But how much can they improve Halloween from 1978?

Hey if you see it really is a difference from the Blue Ray remasters let us know! The first 4 is what interests me the most (yes I love Season of the Witch). I don’t need part 5 in Ultra HD.

I will wait for a price drop too (it will happen at some point).

Scream Factory does a great job. I have a lot of the Blue Ray limited editions they have pumped out for other films as well.

I left my impressions in the movie thread.

I liked it. I know I was talking to somebody else asking me about it but they are more a fan of the suspense and not the gore. Sadly for them, this movie is pretty brutal when it comes to the gore. This is Michael Myers unleashed.

It wasn't nearly as strongly written as the 2018 film, not by a longshot. I will say though that given the right kind of long time fan, this movie might be right up your alley. They service the two films before it (in this continuity) so much that for some it'll be their cup of tea. I thought they hit it on the nose a few too many times personally, but whatever floats their boat.

As per usual, my impressions are relatively spoiler-free. I tend to dance around the content and go more about the themes and my overall experience. Your call whether you want to read it before seeing it!

I read your impressions and loved what I saw. I am a bonafide Halloween super fan. I have loved this series since the first time I saw the original on it’s network TV Premier (I believe on NBC) on Halloween night 10/31/81 while living inAustin Texas. I was 11 years old.....it was a rainy thunder and lightning night....and I was forever changed with horror and suspense movies.

A masterpiece to this day.

I loved Halloween 2018. I thought it was a top 3 in the entire lore. The first and II are my top two. I was kinda sad they disregarded the second one since it took place on the same night. But oh well. I thought Halloween 4 was also very very strong.

So it sounds from your impressions I am going to love Halloween Kills. My son and wife are also huge Meyers fans. So we are all excited to have a double feature at home tomorrow night.

How were you ablate see it Tuesday if I may ask? Are you an actual movie critic?
