Yeah I thought keeping the real paper with a fake idol was a big part of being able to pass it off as being real. Maybe I’m mistaken. I thought having the supplies to make a convincing fake was the hard part.

I think this only applies to immunity idols though. Some of these other advantages I think you have to present the paper to Jeff since they’re more instructive.

edit: regarding Carolyn finding the idol and unlocking the cage and stuff... how did they not know it was her? weren't the rest of them all together? who else could it have been?

The dude Matt is a little whiney lol but generally seems a good dude. I like Frannie a more of that couple. If they don’t get picked off for being a couple I could see her going far. But haven’t gotten to see much of her as an individual.

They think it was just blowing in the wind, so someone grabbed it earlier. They also think there is no way she could have gotten it.

I guess this week's episode answered some questions.

You're allowed leaving the note behind for the fake idol.

I know some people always ask to see the note if someone says they have an idol. I figured it was something you needed to keep on you to "authenticate" it, but I guess that's only for fellow tribe members and not for Jeff/production since they obviously know who has the legit one.

And was it really a tribe decision to sit the same person in every single challenge? And if she played her shot in the dark correctly, what happens? Nobody else got votes except her, but she lost her vote by playing her shot in the dark. Just a revote with everyone else eligible?

They need to bring back the old school rule of not sitting back to back challenges.

Ha, ya crazy that there were multiple instances of it this week. It will be interesting to see if those make it to the merge and two fake holders start comparing idols.

I don't mind a tribe trying to hide their weakest member, but damn what an awful gameplay decision to not insert yourself into the lineup. It's not like the other women on the team were Ronda Rousey.

I don’t think she was totally wrong in that of that group, she is the physically weakest at least just by size. It’s a really well rounded tribe — Danny and Josh the bigger physical threats, Matt and Frannie good with puzzles, Heidi seems pretty fierce all around (beginning to favor her over Sarah as my pick, especially considering Sarah’s position in her tribe). But sitting out all challenges is a bad look regardless and Jeff made it a point too.

Sarah brings up an interesting point but not for the reasons she's thinking.

She got voted out with an "idol" in her pocket, joining an exclusive list.

However...how many have actually been voted out with a fake idol (obviously not knowing its fake)?

Can't recall too many times if ever that's happened.

I wonder at what point Sarah found out her idol was fake after filming. Too bad the fake idol went out of play like that.

The amount of real idols in play is just dumb.

There's definitely too many idols.

I wasn't paying attention when they went on the journey, and just heard all of them get an idol, I thought maybe they didn't read the paper properly, or some crazy luck they all pulled an idol on the first of 3 pulls.

But they were literally just given an idol...

At this point, give everyone an idol to start the season, have no shot in the dark or no hidden idol.

that's not a bad idea, would all the idols be equal, though? you know CBS would throw multiple wrenches into that, too

also, is Carolyn using a fake voice? I can't tell if she's playing a role or if she really talks like that. She's got a bobcat goldthwait thing (showing my age with that reference), but I can't tell if she's doing a thing or if that's just how she is

That's likely not an act. She's a drug counsellor now, and did some stuff in the past too.

And I only know Bobcat because of Hollywood squares, and he was funny on that lol.

Probably a merge or 3 tribes become 2 (if that's the case, I wouldn't mind the good old fake merge where at the merge feast they then find out they're splitting into two tribes).

I don't want what they've done the past few seasons with the stupid hour glass stuff or the "earn the merge" stuff. The hourglass is so stupid.


Although I also wouldn't be opposed to just going until a tribe dies out. As much as I'm glad none of those 3 left, I wanted to see if they'd actually allow a tribe of 2 to continue or if they would've just had 1 go to each of the other two tribes
