    Re: Survivor 44

Something brought up before but becomes even more true after this week's immunity, they need more original challenges!

But Jeff seems to want the same ones so that people can practice them at home and do it themselves.

This has become a problem for BB/Survivor. You have the same comps every season to the point that people can prepare for them and know when/what to expect. The predictability is what hurts the shows. Reality tv should be reality, and reality is unpredictable.

Goes back to my firemaking point about Carson. If they foreshadowed it, he's probably gonna be in that comp, and will win because he's for sure been practicing specific challenges. Wouldn't be surprised if he practiced that final immunity challenge where you drop balls in that metal thing and have to make sure nothing drops.

Well tribal ties are dead, lol. Didn’t take long for the Soka 3 to splinter.

What’s with the hate for Heidi? I think she’s played a really good game. Been one of my favorites since episode 2. But it seems the group is finding out who’s playing both sides. I thought she was gone at this tribal.

Danny is as good as gone as soon as he loses immunity. But he’s been in the final 2 for immunity in multiple challenges. With Frannie gone, who bested him a few times straight up, he may go on a run. He’s playing the game, physically and strategically, at the highest level. Gonna get him axed ASAP.

I don’t get how no one has targeted Carson at all. His name hasn’t even come up, yet he’s in good with everyone and a puzzle master.

Starting to think Yam-Yam might win this whole thing. He seems to be very Gabler-esque, but been involved in way more high stakes tribals. People seem to want to work WITH him instead of against him. He’s gonna be last man standing if they don’t open their eyes.

Hoping we get 2 solid finalists and it’s a real decision to be made.

Frannie will for sure be back on a future season.

Frannie will have too many Matt babies in her belly to return anytime soon lol

aren't the challenges shown to the players before the event anyway? They never go in not knowing what to do, whether it's been a previous challenge or not, they're shown what they need to do in advance (and Carolyn gets caught up in the nets anyway)

Yeah, but Carson has had some of the puzzles 3D printed to where he knows how to connect every piece of some of these weird crazy puzzles. It’s one thing to know to spin around in the mud net, it’s another to know exactly what goes with what before you really even see the parts of the puzzle. He’s blown away a couple puzzles this season. Interestingly, I don’t remember seeing that starfish looking one they did before yet he still conquered that. And I noticed they’ve kind of combined parts of different challenges to make a new ones.

I’m not gonna lie, Matt getting voted off was one of the more emotional tribals i can remember. I just started watching Survivor live, but I’ve seen all the seasons streaming by now. I can’t remember feeling so bummed out when someone was leaving. So I was kind of glad Frannie is out now so they can go be together forever now. I didnt even like Matt that much so it was weird. Frannie really grew on me with her challenge performances though. Straight beast!

              Big news for Survivor.

S45 (and maybe beyond?) will feature 90 minute weekly episodes!

I could see more of the old format returning in the sense we have a full reward challenge and full immunity challenge every episode instead of just immunity winner getting reward.

And more strategy talk and tribe life probably too. Hope they combine new and old school in the edit. Old school was all about tribe life and the elements. New school is all about strategy.

                What a crazy tribal.

So Jaime and Lauren who are aligned with Danny and Heidi split their vote on Heidi (in the event Carson had an idol)?

I would've expected 2 and 2 to be on Carson and Carolyn.

If I'm the Tika 3, I'm using that to my advantage now. Now you can go to Heidi and be like "those two votes for you, we won't." and get one of those two out and now your 3 is the majority.

Any f3 combination besides Yam Yam, Carolyn and Carson I'd be completely surprised by. Nothing the other 3 have done has made me think they'd be in the f3 more than any of those 3 left.

More tribal life and game talk would be great we get to the tribal and the votes end up going in completely different directions than what we were shown, it's annoying, like the whole episode was a tease

edit: Danny legitimately had a good De Niro face

With the compressed modern schedule are they actually filming both each time and we just aren't seeing it? This is mainly happening because of the writer's strike. Since the season is already being filmed I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't able to pivot. Then again the networks/studios also knew/planned this so maybe they gave Survivor production the extra funds for it.

Danny is worthy of coming back. He was all in on the gameplay of Survivor if that makes sense. When Jeff was presenting Yam Yam the Immunity Necklace Danny was just staying back at the competition with a face full of regret.

They're not filming more, it's just that they'll edit episodes into 90 mins instead of 60, which is really just 15-20 mins more of the actual show.

22 min if the usual run time for a 30 minute show so hopefully that much. Will be interesting to see how it goes. Maybe we at least the the intro back

Guess we'll see, but it feels like the longer a show goes, the more percentage of it is commercials.

But I'd say around 1hr 5mins will be the runtime for the actual show. Still just about 20 mins more than the normal length episodes.

It probably wind's up being the same feel to the show, just with the deleted scenes being part of the tv broadcast (this season for example, Carolyn setting her clothes on fire would've made TV), maybe the intro returns too.

Jeff basically confirms the reunion show is staying taped on the island.

It was a cool thing to witness at first, but I feel like it's not as good.

What good is a reunion show when nobody knows what really went down in the season? You can't answer unanswered questions because you don't know what questions fans have wanted to know all season long.

Although nowadays the reunion show is pointless anyways. It's a rushed 30 minute segment that doesn't do much. With social media and online interviews happening, people get out most thoughts through those ways anyways

So, that was the biggest editing swerve ever.

The whole episode was leading to Yam Yam turning on Carolyn. Even at the actual tribal, all that talk about thinking with his head not his heart and doing the move the tribe needs to do the most.

Was all that just a show in case Jaime had an idol (remember, nobody believed she gave her "idol" to Kane and he got voted out)?

And the actual vote, Heidi coming up and saying she's playing the idol for herself, you wonder if something is up.

Jeff reveals the first 3 votes and 2 are for Carolyn and it looks like she's going...until the next 3 are all for Jaime!

So what really went down!? And to top it off, Heidi also voted Jaime, so she was in on the plan? So why play her idol? To make Jaime more comfortable in case she has it? Or did Heidi not trust Jaime was the actual plan and played it just in case?
