    Re: Survivor 44

Yeah, Heidi is pretty much by herself so she was gonna play that idol no matter what to get to the Final 5. I think next tribal is final tribal an idol can be played at? And there’s one floating out there, at least. Unless I’m mistaken and Carolyn’s Tika birdcage idol play didn’t put a new one in circulation. Still should be 1 from Heidi’s play last night though.

My guess is Heidi wins immunity next, Lauren goes, and Heidi vs Carson in fire when/if Yam Yam or Carolyn win the final immunity.

Still not sure why Yam Yam didn’t vote for Carolyn. It’s so ****ing rare for the tribe to vote out the weakest player this late in the game. I love it because I’d love to see all 3 strong Tika members in the F3, but just so accustomed to everyone playing 100% strategy and taking out the strong.

Carson .. Carolyn .. Yam Yam is my order by now. I think Carson is confident he can beat anyone in the final. But the other two are foolish to have not gotten him off. They really went full bore on Carolyn after her surprise idol play and totally let Carson slide. He’s been sliding by all season somehow! They know he’s super friendly, super smart, super strategic.. yet he remained unharmed up until Carolyn saved his *** and again last night.

Does Lauren still have her extra vote? I assume no, have heard nothing about it for a while now and it would’ve been a big swing last night. Must’ve expired at a certain point when X amount were left.

Was all that just a show in case Jaime had an idol (remember, nobody believed she gave her "idol" to Kane and he got voted out)?

And the actual vote, Heidi coming up and saying she's playing the idol for herself, you wonder if something is up.

Jeff reveals the first 3 votes and 2 are for Carolyn and it looks like she's going...until the next 3 are all for Jaime!

So what really went down!? And to top it off, Heidi also voted Jaime, so she was in on the plan? So why play her idol? To make Jaime more comfortable in case she has it? Or did Heidi not trust Jaime was the actual plan and played it just in case?

I'm worried the longer episodes will just end up being extra diversion. It feels pointless to show us what's going on just to be like "haha! gotcha!" at tribal

at least with BB live feeds there are no secrets (unless the feed goes offline and we get the fish tank), Survivor is starting to annoy me with this stuff

60 min episodes probably come back once the writer's strike is over and CBS has stuff to fill the time back. The constant swerves do get a bit old. I guess I'd rather be looped in on the major plan. If one person is 50/50 or might flip then sure keep that a secret.

Big Brother is especially guilty of this too.

You have such a limited time on Thursday's to show things leading up to the eviction, but they spend so much of it trying to create mystery around who is being voted out, just for people to get voted out 10-0 or 7-1 and so on, and everyone's mind was made up days ago already.

Damn! I was high on Heidi early but think she fell off hiding behind Danny and never really recovered. Still think she was a good challenge competitor even if she didn’t win one until the final one.

She would be wise to go to fire against Carson, IMO. He wins no matter who he goes against in the final so unless she thinks Carolyn or Yam-Yam can do it, she should. Heidi is a good fire maker, that’s actually what put me on to her from episode 2. It’s when I knew she was a well rounded player.

Crazy she may be the No votes 3rd place and most of the season I thought she played pretty well. I guess I’ll be getting my wish of a strong final 3 no matter who of this 4 remains.

That was a huge move by Heidi, but I still hope Carolyn or Yam Yam wins this or else this will be a let down.

If she wins, editing has failed the season big time because she hasn't felt like a notable player.

Yam Yam or Carolyn winning I would've been fine with.

If Carson was also with them in the F3, that might be one of the few final 3s where any one of them winning makes perfect sense.

Surprised Carolyn didn't get a vote. Frannie seemed to be her biggest fan.

Either way, glad Yam Yam won! One of my early picks actually won a season! He was the most entertaining person on the season by far and definitely the most likable.

The one good moment about a "live"(as in immediately after the game ends) reunion show is that nobody knows everything that happened.

Jeff telling everyone that Jaime's idol was fake and everyone going crazy was the best part.

I figured Kane might have figured it out after being voted out and Jaime finds out from him in Ponderosa.

But seems like Kane thought it was real since he had to give it back to production (presumably to "rehide")

                        Re: Survivor 44

One of the few finals I would’ve been happy with any of the finalists being the winner.

Everyone could stake their claim IMO but Yam-Yam was so crucial in so many votes. He seemed to always be consistently having to be on top of his game while Carolyn and Heidi had higher highs but more time in the background. Yam-Yam I thought was also a strong competitor especially as Tika tribe numbers dwindled. Carolyn’s performances were bad enough to consider in not voting for her, too.

Imagine if Mathew didn’t go home and Josh/Yam-Yam/Carolyn would’ve gone down to just two. Though I think Josh still goes there. But Mathew in to the merge makes post-merge interesting. He was gonna go far.

In the end, a great season. So nice to see an alliance stick together for the whole damn thing. Heidi going for the win with the fire making to knock Carson out. Strong performances, minimal drama-fighting. The showmance. Another one in the books.

In the "new era" of Survivor, I've been happy with 2 winners and not as excited about the other 2. 50% is good I guess?

I'm surprised Yam Yam didn't reference the point he made in an earlier confessional (I think I mentioned it on here when he first said it) about how many people who wrote his name down got voted out.

That alone would be a big case for yourself and your game being able to survive those very tribal someone wanted you out and getting them out instead.

He was also part of the correct vote 90% of the time or whatever Carson said.

Having people going after you while also voting those very people out at that same tribal has to mean something too.

He wasn't just popular, he had a good strategy.

Carolyn realized he had a better shot than she did to win and she was deflecting some of the credit off herself and towards him during that final tribal.
