Shaun Groves with an EXCELLENT cover of the timeless classic, "Flea Market Montgomery"

That's a good Six cover. You're right about the overcharting on GH2, but that's true for every riff like that, and the same is true for every open string HO/PO riff. Whenever there is a speed chug w/ powerchords, the weaknesses of all of the guitar controllers really show.

I think B4MV's cover of Metallica's Creeping Death is pretty good.

-Judas Priest's cover of Spooky Tooth's "Better By You, Better Than Me" is lightyears better than the original.

-The Hellacopters' covers of KISS's "All American Man" and The Robots' "In The Sign of the Octopus" are much better than the originals as well IMO.

Other than the songs already mentioned in this thread (Jimi's version of Watchtower and the Beatles' Twist and Shout especially), I don't really know what else to put out there.

Thought I'd bump this thread since I've stumbled upon some solid covers recently..

Bad Comany- Five Finger Death Punch(originally by Bad Company)

:I love the original but I do like the version by FFDP.

I Can't Make You Love Me- Boyz II Men(original by Bonnie Raitt I believe)

Iris- Boyz II Men(original by Goo Goo Dolls)

Back For Good- Boyz II Men(original by Take That)

The Bonnie Raitt and Take That covers are better than the original IMO.
