After seeing the specs for each system and they are both pretty good. I will be chosing the PS3, not because of graphics. I believe this is more than a graphics issue, this is a media center issue for me. I look at the possibilities I get with the PS3 especially after seeing the vision in which they are going. I stood in a line yesterday to see the vision of the PS3 with thousand of patrons at E3. It is there vision that sells me on the PS3. I believe this system cycle the PS3 that is will last much longer than you guys think. I believe Sony is looking at a 7 to 8 year cycle. If they release there vision to the public you will see, how the Change concept that they are elluding to. The cell technology will be in many appliances as you guys know and the beauty of this is when you buy an IBM/Toshiba/Sony product with the cell chip installed it increase the power of the PS3.

I love the fact that its a future machine and not a right now machine. I know bluray is not a standard but it has enough muscle behind it that I'm not worrying about the whole beta problem prior to this. All the memory slots = a plus HD Slot = a plus Wi Fi = a plus 6 USB ports = a Plus, and the ungodly amounts of media drives it can read = outstanding. I also love the fact that if I wanted to watch a movie in 32:9 which I'm really considering I all ready have a 60" widescreen HDTV 720 and I do have the room to put another 50" next to it to watch a movie in pure bliss.

The pics you see on the internet about the PS3 size doesn't do it justice. Its about the same size of the PS2 and that black one is beautiful. I'm past the just the game system when it comes to this medium this is about convergence to me and the PS3 to this point offers the most convergence.

The videogame aspect is a wash too me, both systems will accomplish a level of CG. the PS3 will always be connected so if you use it to its capacity, you can be watching a movie and surfing the net, I don't know if you remember when they release Sony release the multi tasking screen the Cell can do. The amount of control escapes me but its pretty damn impressive.

I can truly see this system costing as much as $500.00, and I'm willing to pay that amount for it, not as a videogame system but as a media center with Connectivity and Convergence.

If it's priced that way, that's the only way they can market it. $500 is a lot of money, and I bet there won't be enough early adopters in the marketplace at that price.

exactly

that price isolates the purchasers mostly into gamers/big techies...takes away the more casual gamer/techno person, which is the market that brings you all the money

This game has me the most hyped, why? Because its closer to what we should expect It has that Half-Life 2/Call Of Duty vibe going on, I hope it turns out ok.

WTH is with all these FPS games? I'm so freakin' sick of them... everything is a damn shooter...

It's like back in the NES era where everything was a side scroller...

Ugh... where's the originality? The Xbox doesn't get much play b/c of the deluge of FPS'... and now BOTH next gen systems are having a lot of games in this genre...

I just think it's the generation. The new generation coming up loves the violence I assume. FPS got tired on me a while ago. However, those graphics are waking me up for those nice mission games like Call of Duty 2. I do like sports more. I'm hardly trying to foment a new generation of system wars, but Sony this year virtually epitomized the "puppet show" motif I discussed a few days ago - and it appears to have worked for the most part, at least as far as non-game media is concerned. I don't believe there is any such thing as a "Playstation 3" yet, and I don't believe in the Killzone video. What I do believe is that Sony harnessed the media and then rode it from place to place, one hand on the bridle while the other waved madly in the air.

MS did something that really destabilized the natural order of these things - first by coming out swinging at GDC, and then with their televised abortion on your Music Television. That's not how it usually goes down. E3 is insane, leaks do occur, but there is a place for these things and it's not when they did it. In the face of these competitors, I don't know what else they could have done. The hardcore in my circle were left wondering why Sony or Nintendo didn't return fire, why they'd leave the channel open to be dominated by a torrent of competitive data. For the moment, put aside the fact that the companies we're talking about lead the industry in their nation in many parts of the world, and are extremely proud - businesses who I doubt really feel the need to respond to Microsoft. In the long run, the "hesitance" we detected has been largely irrelevant.

News organizations certainly inform us of new events, "news" being the plural form of new. But there is a kind of storyline that these things hook into, a story about "the nation" or "industry" or whatever, that relates our lives to whatever thing they're talking about. Some of these tones jump out at you. So when Time gave Microsoft the cover before E3, the theme was "The Usurper," a not uncommon tale about the scrappy sophomore vying for the throne. It's a powerful theme, and it got them a week or so of fawning press, but it flows right into The Liege Ascendant, where the reigning king slips back Odysseus style and kills all the suitors.

The only console-exclusive I saw running and playable that really struck me as a next-generation experience was Epic's Gears of War. I'm not "putting my weight" behind the 360, I'm saying that at this particular show, it's the only system that I consider to have been truly "launched." Nintendo's system has been introduced, in the vaguest sense, but without seeing what they intend to accomplish with their controllers we don't actually know why it would hail a Revolution. Sony showed some movie trailers in HD, said that their console could create "artificial life" and expected us to swear fealty to their system's now dynastic lineage. They even showed the intro from Final Fantasy VII in "Real Time(!!!!)," but I can't possibly be the only person who remembers they trotted out a "Real Time" dance scene from VIII when they launched the PS2 - can I? You ever see **** like that on your Playstation 2?

13 Minute action packed video of Call of Duty 2. It's footage of the PC version, but the 360 version is going to be the same, maybe slighter better looking though.
