Yeah. You are pretty good with it. I should just focus on using my pistol more so I can unlock it. Still trying to get the Air Support Medal though.

I don't think i'll ever get that medal. I stopped consciously trying a while ago. They do so little damage its annoying.

Okay so when I started out, it was obvious that everyone else had a higher rank, and I accepted that I just sucked. Then I ranked up a little bit and got better, and before long, I was one of the highest-ranked players in most games. Then I rank up again, and now I'm back to being one of the lowest-ranked players every game.

Do you know what I'm talking about? It's like there are windows during the process of ranking up where you're awesome, then you rank up again and you're back to the bottom, and my point is that these "window" stages only last a few games, so I'm playing the majority of my games against higher-ranked opponents.

I have selected "my rank only" option ON and OFF, and, to be honest, I don't even know what that does, because I still see generally the same player ranks in all the games (i.e., 80% of players out-ranking me).

Is it like this for everyone?

Also, a side-question: How do you enable the "repair" skill? I've been playing as an Engineer for like a week now and have seen no signs of it. I'd really like to get to be a Medic w/ Repair as second. How is this done?

Get a turret medal(5 kills with a turret in one match 8 times) to unlock the repair skill

I was just reading a thread about this on another board, and I liked what this guy had to say about it:

I got all the Air Support ribbons playing 32 player games with normal rules (i.e. all the gametypes, weapons, badges, etc), and it only took 12 games to get all the ribbons.

Let's say you are playing on Salamun Market, and the round is search and destroy. Most people I see drop the "bot beacon" right on top of the target, or at least really close to it. That is the dumbest thing you could possibly do, because people will just look up and destroy it in two seconds - or less if there are turrets. If I am defending, I throw the beacon right outside the base spawn point (maybe 50-100 ft. outside of it). That way my bot is far away from the actual battle, but it still has line of sight on the bomb target. The bots have an enormous range, you just have to learn how far it is and throw the beacon just inside the range of what you want the bot to cover (I hope that makes sense).

Basically, your bot will fire at any enemy near the bomb target and be safe from enemy fire at the same time. When you see an enemy deploy a turret destroy it immediately just in case. Think of the sentry bot like a sniper, keep it far from battle and with a long line of sight. If you want a bot to cover a certain area, DO NOT THROW THE BEACON THERE! Look for a safe spot where the bot can float, but still overlook that area from far away.

I can't stress enough how much range these things have, people saying you will rack up kills on small maps are just wrong. Big maps with a lot of people are the best, because it is too hectic for people to kill your bot when it is picking them off all the way across the map during an intense battle. Once you learn the areas with the highest amount of traffic, learn to place your bot so it is a safe distance away. Once it gets destroyed or leaves, just throw another down in the same exact spot. If you are playing with 32 people, your bot will rack up kills because:

1. People won't see where it is shooting from.
2. People will be too focused on killing each other to kill your bot.
3. Your bot will pick off stragglers trying to run away.

Never seen that error. Only error I have seen is the one before you are trying to join the game. How is your connection?

I'm on wireless right now, but I'm probably going to have to get a wired connection for the security.
