Yeah, um, no question, I'll be going PS3 on this game.

Hard Boiled in HD?! I love that movie, and to have a Blu ray version for 10 bucks...no brainer.

This is Collector's Edition I will be buying.

$70 Collector's Edition of Midway's action game will come with a high-def version of John Woo's classic action film; new exclusive trailer inside.

Guess PS3 owners are reaping their benefits. I'm a little jealous on the real. I would have loved to get that on the 360. Too bad I don't have a next generation player. That's a solid deal. How good was the movie? Might have to holler at the library for this movie sometimes.

I got hard boiled off ebay for like $6. Yeah it's not in HD, but that's honestly not worth $600 to me. This game could be the next gen max payne though.

hope it is better than the Jet Li game on ps2.

Take it for what it's worth, found this on other forums.

I recieved word this morning from Weinstein and Genius that they are not supporting Blu-ray in the sense that they are releasing high defition content on the format.

Hard Boiled is "not a Blu-ray title, it’s actually standard definition (480) on a PS3 Blu-ray game." Hard Boiled will not be in high definition, and be the same quality of the DVD, and can't upconvert at the moment due to the fact it's on Blu-ray.

I thought I would share, not that I was interested in this title, but it's a shame it's in SD.

                Stranglehold Demo Announced

Midway announced today that a demo for the action-packed and award-winning, 3rd person action adventure title, Stranglehold, will be available for download on Xbox Live and PC in early August.

Stranglehold, starring international film icon Chow Yun-Fat and world-renowned action director John Woo, brings all of the action and suspense of a summer blockbuster to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

The full version of Stranglehold is currently expected to ship on August 27th for the Xbox 360 and PC, and September 17th on the PlayStation 3.

Stranglehold’s Hard Boiled Will Only Play On A PS3

As you may already know, PlayStation 3 owners will have an extra decision to make should they decide to purchase Stranglehold. In addition to the regular game, a PS3-exclusive special edition will also be offered for $10 more, which includes the HD version of John Woo’s action classic Hard Boiled on the same Blu-Ray disc.

Newsweek’s N’Gai Croal has some interesting information about this setup, including how the deal was negotiated between Midway Home Entertainment and the Weinstein brothers to include the extra content. The most newsworthy aspect of the post is the news that Hard Boiled will only play on the PS3 console—if you’re the owner of any other kind of Blu-Ray player, you’ll have to wait for a dedicated released of the film. For more on this story, read Croal's post.

Re: New Game: STRANGLEHOLD w/ Chow Yun-Fat

We brought word last week that a demo for Stranglehold was on the way. Now, word has come that the demo will be releasing next month. Hit the jump for the date.

August 8th, gentlemen (and women), August 8th. The demo will be live on XBox then.
The glorious news above comes from a moderator on the official forums over at Midway. The 8th is a Wednesday, and will provide middle of the week relief for anyone hard at work. As a quick reminder:

Just what does the demo contain? Tons. The demo starts off the same as the singleplayer game, introducing you to the controls and combat of Stranglehold. The Hong Kong Marketplace has tons of interactions, lots of combat, plenty of gags, a couple standoffs, doves, and even some extra hidden content. You’ll be hard pressed to find a demo with this gameplay crammed into it.
Look out for the demo in two weeks time.

                            Well...let me say this:

                            HOLY CR@P!!!!

This is an action game!!! Perfect? No. Awesome? HECK YEAH! I had so much fun playing this game. John Woo makes incredible action films so the transition to a game is very well done. I also LOVE the idea of making the sequel to Hard Boiled as a game.

This game is much better than expected. The Hardboiled difficult is insane. The mutiplayer looked great on the trailer after the demo. Im looking forward to playing the retail version.
