Last two tournaments I was in:
1st one was a Pot Limit Hold 'Em on JetSetPoker. 447 people entered, it was down to the last 24. I was around $11,000 in chips and the average was $55,000 or so. In a span of 5 hands, the starting cards I got were Q-Q, A-K, A-A, K-K, A-A. It was SICK. I went on a huge rush, boosted my stack from $11,000 to $85,000. I was 7th in chips going into the Final Table, took some big pots and worked my way up to 3rd in the standings. I just played VERY tight, I basically let everyone else go at it. I made it down to the final 3 players, I went all in once and doubled up, and 3 hands later I busted out the former chip leader. The heads-up portion took about 40 minutes, I went from down $200,000 on the chip leader to $350,000 up on him. I survived one all in (thanks to a MIRACLE river card). I forced him all in minutes later, got a flush on the river and won the tournament and $5.00 real money.
2nd tournament was on Absolute Poker. Regular No Limit game, 2000 people enrolled. I went on another very large chip rush, and was in the top 3 in chips 2/3 of the tournament. I took a TERRIBLE (at the time) beat and was crippled. This was with 25 players or so to go. About 10 hands later, I had A-Q. Everyone limped in, and I flopped two pair. I raised the initial bet, got re-raised, then I called it. The turn was a club, which gave us 3 clubs on the board. I thought I was done, but I was pot committed so I had to push all-in. Turns out I had the best hand, and the two callers only had a club. What do you know, the F*CKING CLUB COMES ON THE FREAKING RIVER. I was pissed beyond belief, and a great run ended miserably in 21st place. I still have yet to fully recover.Comment
