    Re: New Oblivion interview

Anybody else see the preview in latest GI?

The graphics seemed to have improved some. This game looks so good, considering the scale of it. Also GI says the most noticeable improvement is the framerate, since they last played it. I'm still expecting some framerate problems, considering Bethesda's track record.

Hopefully this game ships in March.

Yeah, this is one of the main reasons why I bought the 360, so lets hope it comes out sooner rather than later.

Good interview. Lots of good info. I plan on getting the collectors edition because I love Morrowind so damn much. I'm usually not a sucker for special editions but this game has such a special space in my heart. I'm gonna have so much raw sex with Oblivion, my gf might leave me.

This sounds like it's going back the way Daggerfall was, and that's a plus in my book. The biggest addiction I had in Daggerfall was scoping out somebody's shop with my Spellsword, then seeing what they had. Late at night, I'd levitate up to a 2nd story window, use an unlock spell, sneak inside, clear it out and load it up on the cart and sell it 2 towns over. I made so much money just ripping off store owners, I can't even count how many hours I lost just building up a bankroll in that game years ago.

Now that NPC's are back on a "schedule", I can resume my larcenous activities!

I did the same thing TCrouch! I used the unlock spell (leveled up of course), so break in the shops and sell it to the other towns. Daggerfall was amazing, probably my second favorite game ever besides Half Life. I couldn't wait till the Daedra stuff was in the shops so I could sell them for tons of money. Plus buying houses and horses was fun too.

Did'nt know that stuff about Daggerfall. Sounded fun. In Morrowind, I'd just steal something I wanted. It usually resulted in the shop owner attacking me and the guards chasing my tail. Cant even remember how many times I payed the thieves guild to get a bounty of my head.

I used to love running into innocent civilians and checking out they're armor. I'd be thinking, "i want that" so I'd follow them somewhere and murder them for it...then proceed to delete their corpse from the game.

Yeah, Daggerfall was way ahead of its time. Even riding on horseback was awesome back then.

I spent so long later in the game becoming a vampire. I spent hours upon hours searching for a vampire, taking a bite, then running away...waiting 3 days, seeing if I got the "dream sequence", etc. I finally got my guy converted and played for a long period of time as an undead. Funny how much stronger and faster you got, but of course going out during the day was a bad idea

Thanks good interview but that link made me curios about that site. I decided to browse the forums for about an hour and what do I find? People whining about the game missing this and that even though the game isn't even out yet (not too mention hasn't even gone gold yet!). For example, there's a whole thread on the game going "mainstream". It's amazing how many people are looking for the smallest things to bash. "Oh look they decided to improve water graphics and took out MY favorite weapon!!!! I'm not buying this game!!! It's mainstream!". It's Truly a terrible messageboard and one of those boards you want to avoid if you want to actually enjoy a game. Sorry for the rant...just a little mad that i spent a whole hour browsing that **** hole.

I'm scared about the same thing. The one thing that made Morrowind my favorite game of all time is that it was truly complex and indepth. The game turned many ppl off within the first few hours because it was so much to learn and do. They've already hinted at making the game more user freindly for casual gamers and that alone makes me wonder how many elements they took out.

Well the developers have already giving out most of the info on this game and it's pretty obvious that they only took out small things plus they have added a good amount of good things like Radiant AI. These people that i'm talking about are complaining about LOCKPICKING and the persuasion system being minigames instead of just a guess game! How in the world is that a bad thing? Since when are minigames considered "mainstream"? Also, I saw alot of complaints about the NPC's having voiceovers but voice actors. Again, how is this a bad thing? Who really wants to read everything that characters say when you can read AND listen? Personally, I think some of these people just want to find something, ANYTHING, to hate on.

Edit: And now there are people complaining about the LACK of shadows
