Re: New Oblivion interview
I read the thread and I agree with you, what the ppl are concerned about there is asinine. The voiceover part may be key cause you can only fit so much voice dialog in a game but there have been games where there was tons of dialog and it never got repetitive or limited the game in any way like a Baldur's gate. As long as the branching tree of dialog is still there, there should be nothing to worry about.Originally posted by Havok410Well the developers have already giving out most of the info on this game and it's pretty obvious that they only took out small things plus they have added a good amount of good things like Radiant AI. These people that i'm talking about are complaining about LOCKPICKING and the persuasion system being minigames instead of just a guess game! How in the world is that a bad thing? Since when are minigames considered "mainstream"? Also, I saw alot of complaints about the NPC's having voiceovers but voice actors. Again, how is this a bad thing? Who really wants to read everything that characters say when you can read AND listen? Personally, I think some of these people just want to find something, ANYTHING, to hate on.
Edit: And now there are people complaining about the LACK of shadows
As for the devs interviews and info released, nothing at all scares me so far. Based off some vids and screenies, everything seems to be intact.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

The visuals are simply eye popping. Imagine it in motion in a good size HDTV. We'll see soon enough. How I wish, how I wish you were here. Re: New Oblivion interview
"They" if you mean the developer never pushed the game back from what I understand. There was never a release date from the developer, only speculation. I believe they've always stated "It will be released when it's done"Originally posted by MrcaboneIf they don't push it back again.
I beleive I'm correct in this.Joshua:

Re: New Oblivion interview
They should take all time they need IMO. Morrowind and Morrowind GOTY were riddled with bugs, glitches, freezes, etc. Hopefully that's not the case for Oblivion. We shall see.How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl year after year. Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. The Elder Scrolls IV Delayed
We won't be living in Oblivion until next year.
by David Adams
October 31, 2005 - A financial update from publisher Take-Two today confirms what many gamers feared: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will not reach Xbox 360 and PC gamers this year.
According to the announcement, which offers lowered guidance for fiscal 2005 and 2006, Oblivion has been moved from the company's first quarter, which ends in January, to its second quarter -- February through April 2006.
For Q1 2006, the company now expects to post $300 to $350 million in net sales -- numbers which reflect the delay of Bethesda's ambitious RPG sequel.
So far, neither Take-Two nor Bethesda have offered reasons for pushing back Oblivion, though given the game's scope, many expected the title may not reach stores in time for holiday shopping.
We'll be back as we learn more.
