My problem is the $299 console SHOULD include a HD as well. No reason not do. HD's are dirt cheap nowadays. Then make the wireless controller an add-on accessory (like it is with the current Xbox version).

Re: Xbox 360 Pricing Announced
Honestly the $400 doesn't bother me that much, but the possibility of the hard drive not being utilized because it isn't "standard" could be scary.
I would try to convince people that everything will be okay, buy why do that. The more outrage over the pricing and bundles, the better chance Microsoft will lower the prices or adjust the bundles accordingly.
So please do keep complaining about the launch setup, nothing bad will come of it; only the slight chance Microsoft will try to accommodate people’s complaints.Comment

Re: Xbox 360 Pricing Announced
Money is not a concern to me, it's about the Hard drive now. The Hard drive being standard was one of the biggest items that made me switch from PS2 to XBOX in the first place. If the hard drive isn't standard, then developers won't develop for it. At this point, 360HD=PS2 HD. I just don't understand how you could take a core product from the XBOX and not use it as a selling point to developers, game companies, etc for the 360. I'm very disappointed in Microsoft today. Nice Article Sdrotar. My feelings exactly.Comment

Originally posted by NumberOneRBThe PS3 has built-in wireless internet, up to 7 bluetooth wireless controllers simultaneously, 6+ USB ports, compact flash and SD slots, a slot-loading drive, two built-in HDMI ports, backwards compatibility to the PS1 and PS2, a super-fast built-in Gigabit ethernet port, and a next generation high def Blu-Ray disk drive. These are all the features that are found BUILT-IN to the PS3 that the Xbox360 does not have. I'd say that's a lot more features at a better value if Sony sells the system at $400.Comment

Re: Xbox 360 Pricing Announced
Has there been any official word from MS as to why they decided to go this route? Has the release date been announced? I thought I read that this would be able to hook up to my network which would enable me to save stuff to my computer's HD. Is this true either?
I do not see any way for MS to win this next console battle. In fact I see them losing more people to Sony.Comment

Re: Xbox 360 Pricing Announced
I'm not surprised at all about the premium bundled version being offered at $399 with all the goodies included, but MS dropped the ball with their base model by NOT including a HDD and wireless controller.
I truly believe that MS could have grabbed a larger chunk of the current market share if they would have bundled those 2 things together with their $299 version.
I also expect a PS3 premium version to come out at about $499(maybe more?), so all those crying now about MS, will need larger tissues once Sony announces their prices.
I'll wait till the expected price drop, especially since my renewed enthusiasm with PC gaming(new rigs have a way of doing that), and the list of games I still need to play on my Xbox is long.Comment
